I'm Forgetting!

I came home RIGHT after, I was ready to write down everything she told me but... I completely forgot everything.
Its just not that, I've been forgetting what everyone's been saying to me. If you told me to recap about my day, I would have no idea. =/
I've been getting around 6-7 hours of sleep which is pretty average for me, and I'm eating perfectly fine.

I usually get 6-7 hours of sleep though, can it be because of that? I heard that you need an average of 8-10 hours of sleep! lol

I have been suffering from that for 3 years, I dont think you can do anything to cure it if it's not anything bad i our brains...

and i forget where i put things.
i don't get enough sleep either, so maybe thats the problem > <"
i'm tired and when people tell me it doesn't sink into my brain.

but now, i cant even remember the simple things.
im starting to lose memory of people's name.
i use to be sooo good at that.
i would remember someone i just met once name even if i saw them a year later.

I still remember little things, but my memory has been very iffy lately, and it's thanks in part to being a stressed out, full-time college student. I find myself walking into rooms forgetting what I went in there for, I grab a bowl and forget what I was about to eat, I change but I don't remember where I'm supposed to be going, I go on about a song I like and then I forget what song I was even talking about, I forget people's names two seconds after they told me (and I'm usually REALLY good with names), etc. So yeah...It sucks, I think it's just the whole transitioning thing. I actually get more sleep now than I used to in high school (I sleep probably 7-8 hours now compared to 4-5 hours in high school) but I am a lot more stressed and physically active now. So I guess...The part of the brain that is meant for retaining memory is concentrating more on relieving stress? Lol, just making a crazy guess there, don't quote me

Each night that you don't get that amount of sleep, it adds up and creates something called "sleep debt". Say you sleep for 6 hours one night, and 7 the other, you accumulate 5 hrs of sleep debt. Your body can't pay back the sleep debt on its own. You sleep your regular 9 hours PLUS the sleep debt (14 hours total).
The greater your sleep debt is, the less your brain is able to perform optimally.
Just something I learned from class. ^^

It sucks. >o< I forget numbers, who I've sent text messages to, etc.

Criticism does not equal bashing.

I sleep around 6 hours a day, but I don't think it has affected my memory. Or... I don't know. I remember the most mundane, useless things (like the color of someone's shirt, something I overheard, etc.) but I can't remember what I've been taught in most of my classes. Selective amnesia, anyone? XD

I went on a health/fitness rampage (on Yahoo, haha)
and I found out that eating breakfast (and berries/fruit) helps your memory.
which is why, when you take standardized testing, your teachers recommend you eat breakfast.
So you can remember things.
Its been proven, and I have just started getting used to eating breakfast on a daily basis, and I've noticed I remember things a whole lot easier than i used to.
Off Topic:
I'm hungry now =[

It could be that you took a long brain-break (for example, summer break) and didnt use your brain for a long time so you have to.. warm it up a bit? Im like that during breaks. my memory is horrible. just keep studying, memorizing stuff because the more you use your memory, the better it gets.
dont lose hope.. you're not alone. =)

Woah that sounds like me except I'm in high school, not college. I used to have a pretty good memory but mine is like crap now. It's probably because I don't sleep as much. So yeah, just try sleeping more.
