I just received my new printer!! But unfortunately, I can't get it to install
. I took of all the tapes, and I'm supposed to install the inks. And I think when i turn on the printer, the ink holder should move to the middle. But for some reason, it's always stuck on the right side.. so i can't install my ink
. I'm planning on emailing canon support if it doesn't work soon, but i was wondering if any of u know how to fix the problem. Two common errors i get are 5110 & 6A00
.

Are you sure you got all the tape? Might be stupid sounding, but do you hear the printer trying to go to the middle?
Last time I had something in the way of my printer I KNEW it was stuck lol.
Doesnt canon's have some lid sensor that makes the heads slide out when you open the lid? My old canon did..

Huh wut heads? I managed to install the ink.. after leaving it unplugged for a long time, it jus miraculously ended up in the middle. But I still have an 5110 error. I tried to print a test page but it wouldn't print.. and the computer recognizes the printer... having an error
.

Well, I meant where you would put the ink cartridges into.
Quick googling didn't reveal much on 5110 error. The manual or canon's site doesn't provide data? Should probably email them. Maybe you will have better luck with google (I heard canon is slooow in replying) im not at my computer now so quick is really quick.
My S300 gave me error 18.. I think toasted print heads haha.. then 15 or something for filled ink container... (you know how it cleans itself? that ink goes to a BIG sponge at the bottom)

Eh.. now I'm only left with the 6A00 error
. Whenever I turn on the machine, that error comes up. Could it be because I connected the printer to a laptop which doesn't have a high speed USB.. even though it has a USB port and all the software are installed? Or is it some internal problem of the printer itself and I should get it exchanged?

I recomend you call up canon and ask.
Sounds like you purchased it online. Many retailers have a support department that might also know.
Laptop, low speed usb, that stuff is unimportant. Not an issue of bus power nor speed here.
Can you try to get it to feed the paper to be ready to print?
Unload the ink, reload the ink. Shake your fist at it, threaten it, give it power eyes stare... Sorry, im out of ideas...

^LOL
. I've tried all of the above and it doesn't work. And yup.. i did purchase it online.. from amazon. Canon suggests that I send the base hardware back to the company and they'll either fix it or send a new one. I was hoping there's an alternate solution. But, thanks for all your help!!

>_< sounds expensive to do.
I googled and couldnt find much... the closest seemed to be this mexican site that labeled the 6A00 error as "12 times AP position error [6A00] - Sheet feed unit (QM2-1220)"
So I think shipping thumped it out of position. SO it might be a jammed paper feeder from the shipping.
