I haven't seen a yoga thread here yet so I made one ^^; If there is though, just delete this one.

Recently, I had a yoga session in my health class and I LOVED it. I've never done yoga before, but I know it helps in losing weight (which I'm trying to do). Does anyone here do yoga? Good things, bad things? Experience, questions, etc (:

My first yoga session was actually really hard. I've never done it before so it was like, 'what the hell are we doing stretching and breathing like this'. To my amazement though, I started sweating a lot and it suddenly became clear to me why it helps in losing weight lol (though you'll still have to do cardio workout to build muscle) It gets your heart rate going pretty fast without doing a lot of running for those who hate running lol.

Just wondering, what's the difference between yoga and pilates?

Pilates, I hear, is more of an aerobic-ish thing...
I think... Yoga is working more on stretching + muscles. Pilates is more jumping around ish...
I tried Ock Ju Hyun's yoga tape long ago...and I have to say...I must have been doing something wrong because although they were highly uncomfortable positions to achieve, I did not sweat much

and Im not an athlete or anything so i'd think it's supposed to make me sweat a lot but...
okay well maybe im doing it wrong? lol iono...

I did yoga for a semester--it really helps with flexibility and the breathing exercises helped me control my air flow for symphonic band =)

It's nice to do yoga outside in the morning..it really refreshes you. biggrin.gif
