So I'm scheduled to get 4 of my wisdom teeth removed FOUR days before an AP Exam.
Is this ample time for me to recover before the exam?
And what to expect after removal?

MOST people get better in 2 to 3 days. i just had all four of mine removed almost 2 wks ago and it took me a little over a week to recover. i was really glad i didnt have school during the time. if you want to be safe i would reschedule.


after removal, it will hurt a lot the first day. so take your pain killers. the 2nd day it shouldnt hurt anymore (personally i didnt even take my pain relievers on the second day)

your extraction sites will be sore and swollen for a few days but you will be able to eat, albeit slowly and in small bites.

i'm actually getting mine out 4 days from now, and only took 3 days off of work, so i, too, am hoping it's ample time...but yeah i'd try to reschedule that appt. till after ur exam...cause think about it, u won;t be able to study in those few days before the exam, cause u'll be out of it...so i'd wait till after.

ahhhh i'm getting my wisdom tooth take out too..cuz its a broken tooth. lol
i want to take out all four instead of prolonging the other three for a later date, so i guess it does vary for pain after the extraction??

i'm pretty nervous about the whole wisdom teeth thing...
coz i need to take four out as well.. i had an x-ray and they're still inside the gum T T

It really depends on the person and how far their wisdom teeth are out.
If yours are fairly grown out, then you'll heal faster. But if they're in pretty deep it can take a while.
Mine were in pretty deep so after I got them out it took a long time to heal.
The pain wasn't so bad in my opinion, and I just took advil instead of the painkillers they gave me.
But it wasn't unbearable. c: It took me around one and a half weeks to heal.

However, I REALLY recommend that you reschedule your appointment. Breaks are the best time to get then done. Summer break would be best.
Missing school would suck also, and when I got mine out over the summer, I was REALLY glad.

Your cheeks might still be swollen and uncomfortable after four days.
The worst part of getting your wisdom teeth out, though, is not being able to eat solids properly, not the pain (in my case).
I only could eat soup for like a week. XD
And also, yawning hurt. And you have to be careful brushing your teeth.
But all in all, it wasn't too bad.

Unless your teeth are in DIRE need of removal, though, reschedule!

When I had my wisdom tooth removed, it only took 3-4 days to heal, but it was still swollen. I won't recommend before an AP exam. But then again it's just an AP exam, it won't kill you if you failed. My college didn't even give me the credits I deserved.

i'm getting mine removed too.
if you can resched, then just resched. you don't know how long you'll swell up.

I just got mine out 2 days ago, and It's all good. It doens't hurt for me, so I don't take my painkillers.
But 4 day should be enough for the whole inital ice pack and hot face cloth thing. Your face will probably be a little swollen, but otherwise it's all good.
