I went there more than 20 years ago. At that time, most of the courses were far superior to the corresponding courses at UCLA. I transferred into UCLA engineering after 2 years at SMC, and basically didn't learn squat after getting to UCLA. The UC system only cares about getting your money. SMC has to deliver the goods because they are under constant review by the local universities.
