My parents think that it's not a very good school and that I won't be able to get into a grad school afterwards. o__o
True, untrue, anything you know at all about SJU?
OH and do you have to apply for FAFSA + etc every year?
What kind of stuff should I do to ensure I get into a good grad school?

Most people go to St. Johns for pharmaceutical - medical studies, since it's best known for that, especially their hard-to-get-into program. But for other majors, it's not necessarily a bad college nor does it become a negative in your transcript for grad school. It all depends on how well you do, not only in grades but in extra curriculars such as internships, leadership roles in clubs, experiences in your area of study + other things. I'm no expert either since i'm a freshman in college. Some of my friends attend SJU, and if you attend church there should be a KCF in SJU (Korean Christian Fellowship) that you can join and in the meantime meet friends. I guess since you are moving to an entirely new area and experiencing a new lifestyle, meeting new friends would be crucial. And after that.. i'm sure they can help you with all your needs. If you don't attend church, you can still join KCF or other Korean clubs that exist. I sort of assumed you were Korean from your username, if you aren't then.. change all the words "Korean" in here to whatever ethnicity you belong to ;] SJU's basketball is well known, for being good of course, and.. you can always transfer out if you don't like it there =)

Thanks in advanced!

to ensure you go to a good grad school...just get good grades and work hard, i dont really think it has much to do with the school you're in, unless you're aiming for harvard/yale things like thats
it would help if you told us what kinda grad school you wanted to go for?
i got into the school but it was way too expensive to attend, so i just chose a cuny to attend

But most likely, I'll just go and get my master's in counseling psychology if I can't get into a med school to be a psychiatrist.
Like...I really want to go to Emory

im just wondering though... since pharmacy IS mainly chemistry & math... do you have to excel in these subjects or can you enter their pharmacy program with just a really high gpa?

And psych...a lot of students switch their majors because it's not a pure science. But if you're undergrad, things might work out I guess.

And St. John's does not accept pharmacy transfers. Only freshmen.

I meant before I matriculate if I could ask them to consider me for pharm, but -shrug. It's not really for me, I hated chem.
How much harder is the honors program curriculum wise? What ranking does that program receive?

I wouldn't worry too much about what "rankings" people give undergraduate programs, especially if those people are undergrads themselves. I mean, to be honest, there's no way St. John's Law should get an "A" rating, so these evaluations are a little suspect.
