So the other day my family and I went to an asian restaurant
And we were all sitting down and I think the owner who was also waiting on us was having a depression attack or something
he hardly noticed our orders.

so later when I asked for a spoon (they had forgotten to give us spoons for the soup).
i waved a hand for it (it was the 2nd time i had asked for it, the first time i actually went up to him and asked directly) and the owner/waiter looked over and kinda shook his hand lazily and said "whaever" ignored us and went back to moping...

my uncle lost his temper and shouted across the restaurant (there were like 40 peopl ein the restaurant it was packed) "Oi! WE WANT OUR SPOONS! ARE YOU DEAF!??!?!"

i was like "wooaaa.. chill already.." (so embarassed i kinda ducked)

is that too strong a reaction by my uncle?
was it ok to lose his temper?

yeah, like ... i know a lot of people will say that it's their job they should do it ...

but i mean they guy was depressed you could physically see it, i think maybe the waiter should
have gotten your spoons for sure ... but i don't think your uncle should have screamed. he should have just
asked another waiter.

i mean i have been at work really sad before, so much that i couldn't hide it, i always waited on
my customers though, and most people where cool about it telling me to cheer up. i wear my heart
on my sleeve ... some people are just like this, you can't blame them for it ... but yeah the waited
shouldn't have said "whatever" either ...

사랑 Love ...

thats how i sort of felt too. the guy looked really sad :/ (maybe some tragedy) maybe we should have just kept quiet and gone to another waiter (there was 1 other waiter) or to the kitchen ourselves..

im not sure.. its hard to tell how assertive to be. i think it would have been better just to look a bit surprised and gone on eating quietly maybe..

LOL. Well, I would have been embarassed as well but I guess it's the waiter's fault.

I think my dad or whoever would react the same way as your uncle did. In fact, who wouldn't? Even if they're having some kind of depression attack, they can't just ignore their customers. Why open a restaurant if you can't even treat your customers the way you should? sleep.gif Also, if he's having a bad day or not feeling so well, then he should have just stayed home and chill or something. Don't just go to work when you're unable to give your customers a simple request of spoons. You can't really bring your personal problems to work, you know?

yea ur uncle's reaction was too extreme but I understand why he would be fustrasted
even if the waiter did have some tragedy or w/e happen..he needs to still serve the customers (that's why he has a job as a waiter)
it was his fault for ignoring the request

Geez...I'd be embarrassed...But I can't completely brush off your uncle's reaction as something irrational, I'm sure my lousy stepfather would do the same sleep.gif. I don't think it is necessarily the owner's fault that you guys didn't get spoons though, there are waiters for that...

My dad would react the same way as your uncle. If the waiter was feeling depressed, he should've stayed home. He shouldn't bring his personal life to work.

the waiter shouldn't be bringing his personal problems into his restaurant.
It doesnt reflect well on his business lol
But honestly, I dont blame ur uncle for bursting out like that
cuz i probably would've gotten very frustrated too

No, the waiter knew what his/her job was. He/She should've left their personal
bull at the door.

Honestly, I would've done the same thing.

It's the waiter's JOB to provide service to customers.
If he's so depressed it's affecting his job, he should just go home. Or even called in sick in the morning.
