Okay, so i'm pretty new at this..
but i've been saving up for a SLR camera..
any recommendations for a newbie?
Something affordable (i don't mind TOO much if it's pricey, if it's good.. but i don't want something like $1000++++) .. like around $150+. $200+ or so

And all the accessories i need.

thanks sweatingbullets.gif

You can't find a DSLR for $150-250. Are you talking about a film SLR?

So are you looking for a DSLR or a film SLR? It'll be hard (but not impossible) to find a DSLR under $500 but it's a lot easier if you're looking for a film SLR, since they're a lot cheaper.

slr-like means it has a good majority of the options that srl's give, but you cannot change lenses. [this is the case for most sites, but some places might have a different definition for it].

for under 500, i'd suggest getting the canon xt + kit lens or d40+kit lens. i heard the sony a100 is on sale too. any of these three are good for starters.

another SLR-like camera i can suggest is the Canon S5. (what I currently have).
I'm *almost* positive that you can add additional lenses to the S5, but don't quote me on it.
Um what else, the S5 ranges from $300 (if you're lucky) to $450.
It's an awesome camera in my opinion smile.gif

if you're just starting to take up photography as a hobby/want to look into it further professionally
but have a low budget, i'd recommend you to buy a decent slr-like camera with manual features readily available
so you can learn the controls and diff. aspects, that way you can save up for your next camera,
this time it can be a pro DSLR.

Film SLR uses film, and DSLR's are digital cameras.
You might want to do some research first before you actually buy a camera but I suggest either Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT lens kit or Nikon D40 lens kit. They should be around or below $500.

You can't add lenses with any camera - you switch them. I think you're talking about the adapters, like macro adapter, telephoto adapter, etc.
The S5 is good but I disagree - you can start out with a beginner DSLR and you'll probably learn a lot faster, imo.
There are things that are too different between SLR-like and SLR.

I'm saving up for a DSLR as well. I'm planning on getting the Canon Digital Rebel XT 8MP with EF-S 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 Lens. That costs about $450.

So much to save. Hahaha.
