I'm pretty sure alot of people are familiar with this function where you can choose whether it will show what song you're listening to. I've always been using Winamp to play my music, so I installed the add-on for MSN to detect the song that plays when I use winamp, but here's my problem. When I play chinese/japanese songs, the title just turns "???????". Just which ever characters are supposed to be chinese/japanese/other languages it gives me question marks. Seems that english is the only thing that works fine. But the song title can be viewed fine on winamp.
Is there a way around this? It doesn't bother me all too much but it'd be nice if it displayed the characters.
Thanks.

I use Windows Media Player if I want to play the songs on my personal message. I didn't know it worked for Winamp.
Well, Windows Media Player shows up the Chinese and Korean characters for me.

Does WinAmp show the correct characters? The last time I used WinAmp (>5 years ago) it didn't support any Asian encoding in the tags, that being the primary reason I switched to foobar2000 (along with WinAmp being a memory hog and performing very poorly). But MSN Messenger should show it properly if it is displayed properly in WinAmp. By the way which plugin are you using (there's quite a few)?

Well im sure they're installed correctly. I can see the characters on winamp and on websites and stuff, but just the MSN titles display question marks. I can type chinese in a convo just fine.

You have to properly label the mp3 ID tags.

I've already done that. They all display properly in there. Like i said it's just MSN and it's got nothing to do with the characters else where. They all display fine. On Winamp, even in their info and the advanced tabs.
