Yeah, Broccoli is really good against cancer. It contains alot of secondary plant compounds(hope i wrote it right in english, german word would be "sekundaere Pflanzenstoffe")
Btw almost all greenish, yellowish and orange vegetable have it.
But I wouldn't recommend to cook something with broccoli in.
Not anyone likes broccoli, especially for ur birthday.
If u guys like tomato, it contains not that much as broccoli, as far as i know.
Also food like kim chi contains alot of it.
As far as i know, only radish and cabbage(glucosinolates) really "fight" against cancer, but it will vanish, when u cook it.

^ Yeah, treat him/her like a normal person and don't specifically find "cancer-friendly" foods because well...That just makes the person feel bad (trust me, I know from experience). You don't want to bring in pork chops and spare ribs, but maybe something healthy, and still tasty. Honestly, if I were ill...I wouldn't want my friends to bring me a bowl of broccoli lol. Cream of rice, oatmeal, soup, dumplings, etc.

wahhh!! I'm doing a project for my Food & Nutrition class and my group's topic happens to be on cancer and nutrition!! =)
To prevent cancer, one’s diet should be rich in fruits and vegetables in general. Some specific foods that may help inhibit already existent cancer growth include: avocados, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, carrots, chili peppers, jalapeno peppers, figs, flax, garlic, grapefruits, red grapes, kale, licorice root, mushrooms, nuts, oranges, lemons, papayas, raspberries, red wine, rosemary, seaweed, tofu, sweet potatoes, green tea, tapioca, and tomatoes.

This website has more specific details for why each food is good for fighting cancer.
Hope this helps! ^__^

Sweet foods are okay, just make sure it's low in fat/saturated fat/cholesterol.
Remember, she is still a regular person just like us, but just happens to be a bit ill.
Just think about it this way, would you want someone ill to only bring us "normal/fatty/high calorie" foods
Hope it goes well!

ice cream, hamburgers <- im serious about both of them hahaha
Im acutally doing this report for "alternative cancer treatments" = using natural supplements to cure cancer
I acutally read that cesium with potassium together is suppose to be one of the treatments so they listed a lot of food that has potassium in it. I saw ice cream and hamburgers! hahaha I got so excited about them.
some other ones I read were:
-eggs
-raw celery (maybe with dip?)
-fruits like apples, bananas, strawberries, papaya, pineapples, peaches
-cooked asparagus
-potato baked with skin
-corn on cob
-artichoke (maybe make it as a dip?)
-yogurt, low fat ones
-brocolli
-sweet potato
-tomato
Omega-3 fatty acid is suppose to be good too:
fish?
walnuts
maybe cook with fish oil?
I feel nerdy, stupid BCOM 121
