Hello there, I'm an English major, and I'm thinking about minoring in either psychology, media studies, or Japanese. But the thing is, i'm really bad in science and math, so i don't know if i should minor in psych. but then again, i find it really interesting, and also i heard there's a lot of jobs open for psych. About media studies, i'm into entertainment so...Japanese, i didn't consider it at first, but then, i've always wanted to learn Japanese, though i'm learning some basic words from watching anime xD but wanted to learn how to speak it even before i got into anime. So basically, i'm going to be a beginner in Japanese, and i'm not know if it's a good idea to minor in another language if i'm still an amateur. Or should i just solely stick to English? But then i don't want to take like 5 english courses at one time, that's going to be too much, well at least, that's what my adviser told me... Yeah, i know i'm really indecisive! Ah, I'm so confused, don't know what to do! Also, i'm registering for classes for next semester, so i have to decide ASAP!! I would greatly appreciate it if someone could give me some advice! thank you so much!!!

Well, I think minors are pretty useless in general. I'm not sure what your college is like, but for my school the requirements for graduation for any major required you to take classes outside your major (electives). I don't think it's necessary to declare a minor. Just take classes you're interested in, in addition to the classes you need to take for your major.

I would say since your an English major the Psych minor would be the easiest. I'm assuming that you still have room for a minor to graduate on a timely matter. Psych is a lot of theories. So as long as you study, I'm sure you'll be awesome!

Why is it that you want a minor? Like the person before me said, minors are pretty much useless, but if you have room for it why not, its one more thing on ur diploma.
