i live in Bergen County, New Jersey, and i got a few schools that interest me.

i tried out for a school, but everything went wrong, and i've came to senses that if i stay here, i'm probably go back to smoking, and other bad stuff.
i'm 8th grade, REALLY REALLY not like my age tho -__-

1: NVD- a school that has a national blue ribbon, and its the 16th school in the state of NJ
2: Riverdell- ALSO, a blue ribbon school, good at athletics (plus for me), and its 61st ranked school in NJ, and i no a few people in my grade (church) not my type
3: Ridgefield- my mom and sister want to stay near this area because my sis has to go to NY, and its easier for my mom to do business here.
BUT, its like 10 minutes away from here...so i'll probably end up smoking and drinking/partying again... 97th school in nj
4: Tenafly (rarely gonna happen)- 2nd school in the state

help me choosee

EDITT/ 4/8
well, i forgot on who i am..
i'm in 8th grade, and suprisingly, i get mostly A's
and i'm in honors world history, and honors spanish..(not really GOOD, but bare with me)
and i wanna get into NYU, UPENN, or any good business school.
and if i go to one of the areas where i'm gonna party..like a lot
i'm afraid im gonna ruin my chances of going to those universities
wait...do colleges read applications carefully even tho its from a ghetto crappy rep high school?

Choosing between high schools is like choosing what to order at McDonald's. sweatingbullets.gif
It doesn't really matter which high school you go to.
Whether it's a school with a high reputation, or a crappy ghetto school, it all depends on what the individual makes of it.

In 4 years when you're going to be choosing a college, it's gonna be a whole different story....

It honestly doesn't matter.
Actually, picking the best, most challenging high school out there isn't such a good idea either, because there are just going to be more people who are like you or better than you to make competition more fierce....
I suggest you just pick one that's most convenient and work hard in what that school has to offer.

Wow, you're not even in high school and you already drink and smoke. Kids these days... don't know how to make the right choices in life. Honestly I don't even know why you're picking a high school, where I live we don't have a choice. Go wherever, all that matters is that you do well in school. Though I wouldn't recommend the one where you said you'd end up partying though... o_O;;

well.. i think you already know the answer. if you know something is gonna distract you [ ph34r.gif ph34r.gif *cough* *smoking*]
then i suggest you STAY AWAY from that place.
just pick a highschool that you think will be more convenient for YOU and your FUTURE unsure.gif
it would be really dissapointing if you waste your brains on stupid stuff like partying.
learn how to self discipline !

I would try out for Bergen Academy. I know its tough they only pick two people per town, but anywhoo.
Ok bear with me. I go to a high rep school. People are mad overachievers but my personal philosophy is that part of that learning process is getting to learn from your peers. When you're in an environment with other high achieving students, you can further develop your own ideas, grow freely, and mature. Plus!!!! most of these really high achieving students have a very high chance of succeeding in something that they love in life. You can meet the future leaders of AMERICA!!! why would you ever give up a chance like that? Also if you go to a good school the upperclassmen have good reps too. They help you out. I would go to the best high school I could find. Why not? If you're good enough to get in why not go?

Oh! I know people in Tenafly High. XD. anyway yeah go to the best school you can. BTW if you're wondering I go to Hunter College High School.

well, theres a new consideration of schools, and this is going to cross everything..
Benjamin Cardozo High School in Bayside, NY.
yeah...people stereotype that the schools in NY, but believe it or not
36% asian school, and its America's 12th top school. idk tho, we're considering moving there (Bayside) because
my sister works in NY, and my dad travels a lot and JFK is nearby.
but, the life style is probably going to be an experience, but i'm down for it.
its weird, kid from jersey crossing over 45 minutes to bayside.
where idk ANYONE, but i'll meet at church...
but i'm not sure if i'm down for it.
