Everytime I try to download itunes 7.6 or 7.4 (basically the newer versions) it says I need to have Windows Update XP or something like that.
But when I try to go to the windows update and I update it, it does no help or change anything at all..TT__TT
Has this happened to anyone?
If so, please PLLEEASE help me.

Okay... would it be possible to get more specifics? Screenshots or type out the errors? Because windows has a TON of updates and its pretty difficult to determine which you will need. If you can find it perhaps we can point you in the right direction.

Sorry for the unclear post.
BUTTT,
let me try to rephrase what I was trying to say.
In order to download iTunes 7.4/7.6 you need Windows XP with Service Pack 2 and Windows Vista.
But to download Service Pack 2 you need a "genuine version" of Windows which I THINK I have but it says I didn't pass the genuine test or whatever.
I can't dowload iTunes 7.4/.6 AND I can't use the old versions either, i.e. 5.0, etc.
So now I have no idea what to do because I can't even get more music on my ipod or ANYTHING!!
Does anyone know what to do?!
Because if so, then PLEASE HELP MEE!

where did you get your computer? is it a name brand one? (ie. HP/compaq, gateway, sony, acer, lenovo?) if it is, then you should have genuine windows, and then you would hafta activate your windows manually (which involves phoning MS).

if you have a pirated copy of windows...well, sorry..we cannot help you here with that.

Yeah...unfortunately that happened to me the only thing
that you can do is buy a new copy of windows xp...other than
that nothing much you can do since there is no way around
having to download windows sp2 in order to be able to download
itunes 7.6.
