hey guys
my professor said he would write me a letter of rec but i need to bring in my statement.
it's basically why i want to go to pharmacy school.
but i've never written one so i'm not sure how the layout should be.
for anybody that has written one and has gotten a letter of rec
do you know how long it should be and what clear points i should make in it?
thank you so much!!

yikes!
you have to bring at least a resume or a statement letter!
it lets the teacher know what you're applying for.
and the resume helps the teacher see your activities, etc.
if the teacher doesn't know you well, they cant write anything.
and it is always, always polite to bring a statement form.
it asks them to please help you out.
something like....
::::: dear (prof's name or To Whom It May Concern),
i will be applying for ........ and i would appreciate it if you can help
write a letter of recommendation for me.
(then give a brief description of the pharmacy school, program)
ex: the pharmacy program only accepts its top students,
the program would help me further me education in pharmacy, etc. :::::
you got it?it should be only one page, two would be too much.
i dont know if my form is correct for medical school, but i've used it before.
but yah, it would be more polite to bring in the statement rather than
just asking the teacher to write a letter. they need to know what they are writing it for,
this can help them boost a good image of you.
just make the points of why their letter would really help you.
why you want to go to pharmacy school.
how this can help further your education.
and how much you would appreciate their consideration.
GOOD LUCK!
you can do it!
take care.
