Is it really bad to withdrawal from a class? I heard that its okay to withdrawal from one or two... how much does it affect you if you are planning on going to a pretty prestigious grad school... like NYU, UCLA, etc?

Well it doesn't affect your GPA or anything. There will just be a mark on your transcript that you withdrew from that class. If it just happens once or twice, I'm sure it's fine. It's better than getting a bad grade, for sure. What's more important for grad school is overall GPA, whatever extracurricular activities you have, and other things (depends on what type of grad school you're looking to get into? maybe interview too).
