a lot of people have been following the torch and protesting because of china in relation to tibet...
the torch is already here in san francisco and tomorrow is the relay
i wanna skip school and go but my grades are already bad enough :x

anyway, i just wanted to know...
would you protest against the torch if it were near you?
do you think it's inappropriate that people are using the olympics to protest against china?

Whoever protests the Olympics to protest against China are feeble, simple minded idiots. The Olympics should be kept the way it was a hundreds years ago when Greece started it, politics free. You had heard about the genocides in Tibet before the Olympic races, yet why didn't you do anything then? Hoping on the band wagon with a bunch of other idiots to protest the Olympics won't accomplish anything except diminish whatever relationship China has left with the other countries.

All I've heard about China from American news is bad news. It's much more complex than that...
just because of the Tibet incident doesn't mean we should stop THE OLYMPICS. D:<
Why don't we include Taiwan too then? They want freedom too.
But I don't think we're going to get freed by China anytime soon.

It's not like Americans haven't done the same with Native Americans.

alot of people here seem to bash on people about protesting against the olympics but its not just the issue about the riot in china its about the smog or pollution there. ive been to beijing for sports before and its a nice city but the pollution is really bad. the moment i stepped out i felt my chest feel really packed in like i was struggling for air. the air was heavy and took its toll when i started working out. even though i only been there for 3 days those 3 days felt very horrible. i have nothing against the olympics being in beijing but i have a problem when athletes are putting there hopes and dreams on the lines and get wiped away with the pollution there. if bejing had cleaned up its air then i would have nothing against it but when you putting our athletes health in danger then i do have a problem with it.
