What do people think about selling items on Ebay? I have friends who look down on it and when you say "ebay" they look at each other and give each other the look like "uh.... ......" i mean it's really useful to sell old items and books on ebay IMO, but some people really look down on it. i just wnated to know if this is true and in general what do people think about it in ur school, college, church?

I don't buy or sell anything from eBay because I don't have Paypal. I don't exactly trust the sellers on eBay either. I buy a lot from Amazon though. I only buy from Amazon if the library or bookstores don't have the book I want in stock. My parents allow me to charge it on their credit cards for books.

hrms... ebay... at first, i was a bit skeptical about buying things online, but i finally made an account just so i can buy a cell phone for cheap. tongue.gif

but no, i dont think buying things on ebay is really frowned upon. but if some people really do look down upon it, its their problem.

I was a bit scared to buy stuff off ebay because people said that they will rip you off.

After buying something on there (forgot what) it came in 3 days!

I was excited and have bought many things of there.

Same with Amazon, it just depends on the people you buy it from and if you trust them.

I love eBay and Amazon. I've only had two problems with lousy buyers - who decided not to buy at the last moment, and then I had to wait 3 weeks before being able to put my item back- but the sellers have all been fine.

i just started ebaying because i needed some school stuff and buying it retail was just too expensive.
it's pretty cool for the most part and i love saving the extra $$.

i have a question though..
i had about 12 bucks in my paypal account
and i bought something off of this person on ebay for 8 bucks.
i got my order,
but it still says that i have 12 bucks in my paypal account
(it's been a week or two since i realized this).
i got the email that the transaction was made..
what's going on?

^ It depends on which payment method you used. If you select credit card, it'll use your credit card to pay for the transaction, if you chose bank transfer, it'll use that, and so on. So if you accidentally didn't choose to use money out of your Paypal balance, then it...Won't sweatingbullets.gif.

^ yes, experienced sellers will only send the item once the payment is recieved. Since you're paypal account balance stayed the same, you probably paid with your bank account if the payment was send. I would check your paypal history, and see if there was a transaction for that item

I've purchased a couple phones on eBay
and I buy a TON on amazon.
especially books because they're cheaper than at the bookstore, and if it's over $25 then I get free shipping happy.gif
which is better than driving 15 minutes to the bookstore LOL I'm lazy
