I have an iPod video, and when I plugged in my headphones, I realised that no sound was coming through the right side. It's not my headphones since I tried it with all my earbuds and headphones (which totals to about six pairs) and the right one doesn't work. I think I've somehow bent or moved one of the metal pieces inside the plug, because if I push the part of the earbuds that plugs in so that it comes into contact with metal, the right earbud will work again for a short period of time.

Does anyone know if this can be fixed? I've heard of this same problem happening to some other people, so I was wondering if someone had this happen to their iPod and had had it fixed. I know of an Apple store that I could take it to, but it's kind of far from where I live and I don't want to go just to be told that it can't be fixed.

Thanks in advance.

You're going to have to hope you still have warranty left on it. There really isn't much you can do especially since the opening is so small... its difficult to try to do any poking or bending to try to get contact back and its very likely the connector on the ipod circuit itself came loose. If thats the case it is a easy fix if you can take the ipod apart but you have to be able to use a soldering iron.
