I'm sorry if there is already a thread about this ><; I'm looking for a free, good site hoster for a "fan fic official site" that i could link to my stories, etc.

Not including myspace and xanga.

Which do you think would be best?
Design-wise; Use-wise; Etc.

&& What forum (company) do you like best? Invision, ipb, jcink, etc?

Imo, invisionfree is the best forum. :] I've always been comfortable browsing with invisionfree hosted forums. :] I've joined forums before that are hosted by phb (or smething... ._. Forgot) but I soon left the forum because I didn't like how it is. T_T

I think livejournal would be good. :] I'm not a hardcore LJ user but I used it before~ I'm pretty comfortable with it. I just stopped using it because I didn't have friends who use it. Multiply is pretty good too. But it's really a blog type of thing. I use it and I really like it. No serious problems encountered and I once asked help from the staff, they respond quickly!

Yeah =]
But theres not a lot of invisionfree skins... I tried looking for a white/green one but the one i actually liked--they didn't have matching graphic sets for D:

I'm trying to look for one thats good to post fanfics on D:

invision is great. i mean the other ones are okay but people tend to use forum softwares that they're familiar with. if you want matching graphic sets you could always make them yourself or ask someone in the avatar & banner request section. vox is a pretty great blog site only it's not super customizable even though there's a lot of designs. livejournal (who is owned by the same company as VOX) was good before they started putting ADs on it. the great thing is that they have a new S2 style system and there are more ways to customize it tongue.gif if you don't mind the ADs livejournal would probably be the best for your fanfics.

I like Invisionboard. smile.gif Though I really like XMB style forums too. smile.gif Not a fan of Invisionfree...-o-;;; Huhuhu~.
XMB is really customizable and you can install like...amazing hacks on there if you're smart enough to make them. xD
I was at an XMB forum where there were shop hacks, blinkie galleries, and trophies, and a trading card system. It was really cool. sad.gif I'm sad, it's gone now.

In terms of blogging, I blog at LJ. But I usually like to blog with my own domain using Wordpress. smile.gif Customizing w/ wordpress is easy (when you upload it and put it on your site. Not the actual site itself. T.T;;;)

I might go with LJ; @Meteorstarbb829; I tried googling>Invisionfree Skins; and not very good sites come up. IfSkinZone is the biggest of them all; and their collection of skins are okay too, but not all of them have matching graphic sets And they d on't separate those from the ones that do--so its hard to find skins T.T

Thank you all for ur opinons =]

My favourite has always been Forumotion.

http://www.forumotion.com

It's very customizable as far as usage and layouts go, not to mention user-friendly and admin-friendly, in my opinion. :]

Invisionfree is the best. If you're looking for themes, go to Red Carpet and Rebellion. They have the most amazing Invisionfree skins. Haha, I didn't like Invisionfree either when I couldn't find any good skins, so that might change your mind.

Blog-wise, I think both Livejournal and Blogger is pretty good. For Livejournal, if you don't want ads, just use a basic account. Unless you want lots of userpics or something, it's not that different. Blogger is just your nice and basic blogging tool.

which you cant do for livejournal (unless you wanna pay)

i`ve been using livejournal for four years, & never had any problems with it.
blogspot/blogger for the past two, but it`s been really iffy at times. sometimes it takes forever to load things up on the editor.
with livejournal, you can customize it if you know how to, without paying.
it`s easier to customize blogger though.

LiveJournal's a pretty good website.
I joined a few fanfic communities on that,
And they update regularly..
I end up seeing lots of fanfics when I'm on it.

are you asking about both blogs and forums? i don't know much about forums, but i've had a lot of blogs (lj, vox, blogspot, ...) and i'd say tumblr has been the best out of all of them because it's completely customizable and ad-free.
