There is a correlation between watching violent tv/games and more aggressive tendencies across the board. That is not disputed in research.
I think it's ultimately up the parents for the kids. Adults watch violent movies and play violent games. They may be more aggressive afterwards, but they are aware of the consequences of their actions, so they don't act up on them. Kids, on the other hand, are not as mature.

Have you ever heard of the game Manhunt? It's sooo controversial that it was banned from several countries.
And the countries that DID sell it, sold two versions, a censored one, and an uncensored one.
I played it about 6 months ago and beat it. I thought it was the sickest/twisted game I've ever played

Seriously now, if you had a small child, would you let them play Unreal Tournament, Silent hill, GTA4, Resident evil? No, i wouldn't. Its up to the parents to decide on whats ok for their child to play. I'm not saying all id let my kids play are some crappy disney games or "magical woodchucks big forest adventure" I would research the game first and find out whats it all about and if my kid is mature and intelligent enough to handle it.
i think the rating system is good, but it needs to be more uniform. Have a set guideline like the movies we watch.
Peace!

So true.
Honestly, if ANYONE is going to kill someone, the potential had to have been there in the first place. Video games don't TURN people into killers. If some kid kills someone after playing a video game, then he was messed up in the first place.
