i cant say i dont like it....coz sometimes i used it.....xDD...but so far i only used unnie with my girl friends that i knew for a long time and she IS like an unnie to me....she also referred herself to me as 'unnie'...so..its not a big deal....xDD

and i once used 'dongsaeng' with my korean friend.....coz she's A LOT younger than me and she's calling me unnie too~~~...kekeke....

as if in typing...i have no problem with it....but when people are talking.....i get annoyed....xDD

sorry~~~...

even when my non-korean friends talking with me in korean...they knew i understand them....but i got really annoyed until i felt like punching them on their face.....xDD

p/s : thank god none of my friends are on soompi...xD

Some of my friends that are girls call me 오빠. I teach English and they are like a year or two younger than me so they call me 선생님 or 형. I call my older cousins 형 or 누나 because it is a term of respect in Korea.

I do get annoyed when teenyboppers use it for their favorite singers. They dont use it in the right context half the time and it irriates me sometimes.

It annoys me too, but I'm a little guilty of it.
It wasn't to the point where I called everyone Oppa/Unnie/Dongseng, though.

Now, I just call them by their names. Or HOMIEEEEE YO.

I don't use it unless I'm in Korea, or speaking to somebody from Korea but I don't get mad when other people use it.. Not much you can do but they do sound like they're wannabe's which is a good thing sometimes heh.

Hahaha. I NEVER use it in real life. But I used to use it A LOT when I first started writing fanfics on soompi. I got tired of it myself, so I rarely use it anymore. *shrugs* I get your point though. It does get annoying.

i think it's cute. if i was korean i would so use it.

but i've seen in the korean celeb forums that people add unni or oppa to the celeb's names. i think that's a little weird since they don't even know them.

What if you're calling a Korean person OPPA/UNNIE/HYUN/NUNA?
Though you aren't Korean but you call a Korean
like that is that bad or annoying? .
I mean you're just showing respect on their culture.
Haha whatever, but I don't call anyone OPPA
except "hot" Korean artists BAHAHAHA.
I ain't using the others lool. it sounds ......

Here in the philippines,
we call older guys/our brothers KUYA,
while girls ATE. haha .
im awesome and i am not just saying that.

I'm not Korean. I'm not even asian but I do get annoyed when people over use those terms.
The people I hear say them don't really know the meaning.
I see if they were speaking in Korean when they used the term, but they are speaking in English and throw in random bits of Korean. I only say Oppa when I'm referring to my favorite korean star. My best friend is half korean and he doesn't like when people besides his gf or sister call him oppa.

I hate that whole "Kawaii" and "Konnichiwa" thing. I study Japanese and I only use those terms when I'm speaking in Japanese, or talking to someone who understands Japanese. I also hate when people who speak another language constantly say "Yo" or "man" at the beginning and end of there sentences in english. Over kill. They truly abuse those phrases.

I will admit that I do say "aish". It has become a habit, so I say it without realizing it.
I only find it annoying when people who are not serious about studying the language and culture use these phrases too often.

i can really relate because it's like when people say meimei/didi/gege/jiejie... it's fine with me and even kind of cute when you use it amongst your friends, or people you know well because it's like a little nickname, a sign of affection. but when people you completely don't know go around calling people that it's kinda annoying. and no racism meant here, but when people who aren't even chinese say these things, they just kind of come off being wannabe-ish. :\

Unless it's my korean boyfriend or a korean guy friend who requests for me to call him 'oppa,' i don't use those terms. I'm not korean. Why would I use them, y'know?
