I don't see the harm in learning new languages and using the terms..but I agree with the over using words thing can be bothersome.

;____; i want to slap those people some times.
lol
especially people who learned some swear words that they hear a lot from their korean/Japanese/Chinese who use them... and they don't realize those are swear words.. and then misuse them during the wrong times...
therefore, they should LEARN what those words mean before they start to use them (and will save some embarrassment).

ohmagahh
it's the most annoyingest thing evar. all these underclassmen are always like "oppa!!" in that cutesy fake voice to my asian guy friends. i get a little creeped out when younger guys call me nuna too, especially when they're like, only a year younger. i've gotten so sick of it to the point that i never use that term. but im okay with it as long they're actually just being respectful and stuff.

Or their fobby flirting.
O__o
"OOOOPAA!! ~"
sick man. sick.
lol
I use it only when I have to, such as addressing someone much older than I to be polite.
Not.. to like. be cute.

that's something i'll never do.
i find it too weird and i would be pretty annoyed, too, because that's such a wannabe.

(Mostly pre-teen girls with squeaky voices)
I think they are annoying and a freaking Korean wannabe.

My korean friend called me "em" (younger sis/bro in viet), and she called my friend "chi" (older sister in viet) and i have no problem with that.....
but yeah i can imaging a girl with a whining voice saying "oppa", and that's annoying.

But when I'm with Viets, I use the viets ways. But I usually call them by their first names :3

It only bothers me because they have THICK American accents while saying them.
It's cute when people take an interest in other people's culture and language.
I call my Filipino friends "ate" sometimes. It comes out naturally since I'm used to using it.
A lot of people around here don't even know about Korea, so I'm all good.

anyways I think it's annoying too, when it's overused or useless.. but in Filipino, Japanese & Chinese they have those words too..
just examples:
Filipino - kuya, ate
Chinese - ge ge
Japanese - onee chan
and blah! I would be glad if non-Filipino's call me "ate" (unnie/nuna), because that shows me that they're felxible and can adapt and be respectful to one's language/culture.. but yeah that's just my opinion.. prolly everyone or many will disagree in here 0_o
and honestly when I'm talking to my older brother (we're not blood related, we're just very close and he's Korean) I also say "oppa", because I think it's inappropriate just to call him by his name (because he's older than me by few years).. and calling him "kuya" (hyung/oppa) in Filipino wouldn't fit either >_<

they think its cute obviously, but when a non korean girl says it. it really doesnt have much effect. its not annoying, somtimes its funny, just doesnt mean much more then a inside joke between the girl and the korean.

If you hate the person or think they're annoying, naturally, you'll be, well, annoyed. lol
If they say it w/ a horrible accent, yeah you'd get annoyed as well. XD

The only time I've used Oppa was to my older male cousin who lives in Korea.
But that was only one time and none after that because I felt weird saying it ._.
