If your phone supports MP3s I like to use audacity to convert the WAV to MP3
http://files.filefront.com/winlamezip/;998...;/fileinfo.html it might be a bit cryptic to use the custom options, but you will want like 96kbit mono and the file should be very reasonable in size in the end.

use this, its a shareware but like the limit of this shareware, is the size of your final file, i think 30 seconds. so its good for ringtones

i dont use audacity (i use sound forge, but its similar) but i know it would be able to save as mp3...and hopefully your phone supports it.
you need to install the lame_encoder (mp3) then you'll be able to save as MP3 then you can upload it to your phone. you can chop down your ringtone to around 1/4 the size you're gettign now with WAVs, depending on the quality you set it to.

I use lame as a standalone to convert. The only downside is it only converts wav and mp3s. So it should be perfect for the current use. You can also convert mp3 to slightly lower quality mp3 for smaller size.
