First of all, for Mod, I put it in the Korean Music Forum because like the title said, I specialized this topic for Korean music only, since my interest mostly in there.... So, please tell me if I put it in the wrong place and moves me!

Well.... Could you guys share with me, what Korean album which you bought (or downloaded -- just try to be honest ) recently that disappoints you the most? And also in the other hand, the album that you bless to have it. I just want to know because I think sometimes when we put a good expectation about an album but DANG! you just like, "what? I only like 3 songs out of these 15 song on one album??". But also a feeling you get when you hear an album and then feel like, "oh My God, thanks to you I have this one". Those kind of feeling.

Anyway, I bring this up not to point a finger to some artists to show that they are bad or good. But truly just wanna know other's experience. However, it will be very personal and nothing to be debating later....

And last, please....I mean an album is a full album, not like you just got some of the songs or single (but a single album with two or more songs are accepted), so please note

:: Album that disappoints me recently : 45RPM's Hit Pop -- Well....this is my first time listen for their full album and I have to say that their music not matches with my ears... Sorry....

:: Album that I bless : definitely Monday Kiz' 3rd album, Inside Story. Wonderful job!

Album that disappoints me: too many to mention.....

Albums that I love: Yuri Vol. 2 - she's finally back and her vocal power is amazing. The title song reminds me of Lena Park.

i guess it all depends on the musical taste in general. i don´t really consider albums, which don´t fit my taste (style wise etc.), disappointments. that wouldn´t be fair ^^

however i´m sometimes disappointed with some albums of artists, whose previous albums i´ve liked. or sometimes a singer releases a really good single, but his/her album is full of fill tracks. kinda makes me feel that the label/company just tried to push out a fast album without spending much time to it =(

anyways here´s my list:


disappointment: BoA´s - The face (sorry, it´s jpop). though it´s not really a dissapointment. the songs are still catchy and well produced. and i really love some of them. but i was bothered by the fact that her music isn´t really developping. it´s like avex/sm are just trying to release as many albums as possible without giving BoA the chance to grow.

most recent album that i love: 3rd Coast... they just sound really fresh. their mix of electronica with hiphop is pretty cool.

Disappointed: SNSD Vol. 1. It's the same song....rehashed over and over and over. I understand the theme is "doll" but there are soooo many themes in that regard that one could put into sound production. OHHHH!

Blessed: FT Island: The Refreshment. The name says it all. It's a good thing for vocals and some fun/interesting arrangements.

Albums that I Loved:
Kim Dong Ryul's 5th - Monologue (singles that came out were "Dashi shi jak hae bo ja" and "ah ee chul um") - really good album, its a nice listen
KCM's 4th - Kingdom (good ballads and some happy faster songs)

Disappointing recent albums:
Rich's 4th - The Album that I wrote before I went crazy (no offense, he should have just gone crazy; apparently he wrote and produced most of the songs...but it wasn't anything special...the songs were very teenager-ish)

Disappointment: I was disappointed at SNSD's first album. I was expecting to be WOWED...but it came out more cute and bright then WOW.

Blessed: SG Wannabe 4th - The Sentimental Chord. Beautiful BEAUTIFUL album. Every single song...and it only got better after I watched their Human Screen Documentary. <3

Albums that I love: Nell! It's one of the best albums that I've downloaded XD

Disappointment: Lexy's 4th album, The Lexy. It wasn't bad or anything. I liked it, but i was really hoping for Lexy's rapping (like her previous album, Rush)

Blessed: Super Junior's 2nd album, Don't Don. They've improved so much from their 1st album. I love it <3 -can't really think of others atm-

Album that disappoints me: actually I don't have one. I rarely hear a full album, just one of the songs into it.
Album that I love: I absolutely love Kara - the first blooming, CSJH - One more time Ok, TSZX-Graceful 4 and finally SNSD - Girls' Generation. It's hard to choose which one is the best. I only hear all of the songs in those 4 albums. Just 'AMAZING".

Hrm... albums that disappointed. Recently? Lexy's 4th.

I always recommend this album to ballad lovers.
Park Hyo Shin's (박효신) 5th, [The Breeze of Sea].
If you like ballads, get this album.
Another great album is Lim Jeong Hee's (임정희) debut album, [Music is my life]. Love that album. R&B and street funk.
Lyn's (린) 4th, [The Pride of the Morning] is a mix of ballads, R&B, and pop.

Disappointed with: Wonder Girl's first album. :l I loved Irony and had expectations but... I like about 2 songs on it. :l Recently I don't think any. =]

Gavy N.J.'s The Very Surprise (super old) ....I heard their Ost song , Remember, and thought they were awesome.
So I looked up their album and it wasnt as good as Remember...but they are still awesome!
Kara's First Blooming(old again)....Sorry, Kara fans! I love Kara but I think they need some work...Beautiful lives though!
SeeYa's California Dream(old again)....Pretty good, but I had high expectations as their first two albums were gorgeous!
Seo In Young's elly is hot...really disappointing, think shes better in Jewelry than solo =)


Currently, I still have Monday Kiz' Inside Story, Lim Jeong Hee's Before I Go J-Lim and Eru's Last Concert to enjoy...^^

SNSD's "don't make fun of me because i'm young" album. Other than that song, nothing else really perked up my interest.

younha's new album in Japan. She keeps releasing old songs over and over. Not that I don't like her new/old songs. I really like them. But I was expecting something more.

Nell's! I don't listening to the whole album seriously yet, but there's some songs I found out like.... "WHAT? I could find this kind of music in Korean music? They are really smart... No wonder why Tablo recommends this album to his fans.... Hehehehe

When I heard Lexy's Let Me Dance 2 with Hyun-joon of V.O.S. I already had the disappoint feeling, because I put a high expectation with the song since the first version featuring Teddy is a big A+....

disappointed: SNSD's 1st album - their debut song sounded so fresh but their debut album sounded like just another sm, teen pop album. i know it's jpop but dbsk's 3rd album. it feels like they're mass producing albums (like boa)...the way they sang their songs sounds the same...their music sounded like the 50 other songs they've released except with different lyrics.

loved: (not very recent but...) i recently got clazziquai's first album and wow...i'm usually a ballad lover but i love just about every single track on that album. there hasn't been any recent album i took a large liking to...

x-- [recent] 8Eight's 2nd album--some songs are catchy, but I wouldn't want to listen to the album a 3rd or 4th time around.. LOVED their first album though--and still love 8Eight bunches
x-- [recent] Kangta's minialbum.. "Eternity" -- love this man and his voice, but I was expecting a ballad with a melody that stuck in my head. iono.. this album didn't "wow" me. =( (btw, i hope he comes back safe from his military duties T_T )

Fffuuiihhh....I think it's only me who think that 8Eight's Infinity disappointing. Before I found out 45 RPM's, I am totally disappoint with this album. I think I will find happy songs with nice music like 'Forget Love and Sing' or nice ballad like 'Can I Love', but then I found out the music not like what I want..
So does Kang Ta's. I miss his 'Persona' album....
