I want to do something special to celebrate me and my bf's first month thingy. Anyways, I thought of bringing a lunch on Monday, but I totally suck at cooking so I'll probably just make rice and chicken popcorn. But then it might be too plain, and so I looked around the kitchen for stuff to salvage.

I found some potatoes, and thought of adding heart shaped potato wedges(tho it's not a wedge anymore, but who cares). I know you bake those and stuff, but for how long, approximately? And what to add?

I want to make the lunch a bit bento-ish, so I'm asking you Soompiers. smile.gif

What else do you think should I add? And the dessert?

The sweet stuff I found in the pantry+fridge were: marshmallows, jellyace cups, pepero, blueberry jam, maple syrup, and butter coconut cookies. I kinda want to do something homemade. Uh, is waffle a dessert? >o<

I know I sound like a total loser but I really want him to enjoy our lunch together. All I've given him this past sem were almost-burnt cookies and chocolate crinkles that tasted weird. :|

For easier reference, here's a list of the stuff I saw at the pantry(well, those that I remember):
Vienna sausage
Spam
Spam turkey
Sardines
Ketchup
Tomato paste
pasta(macaroni + spaghetti)
waffle/pancake mix
cream

In the freezer:
Ham
Chicken popcorn
hotdogs
squidballs

In the fridge:
Blueberry jam
Jelly cups
giant marshmallows
regular pepero
tomatoes

I guess that's about it? Help. ;__; Also with the presentation and stuff. :| Thanks in advance.

um.. you could always try fried rice for the "main course"? smile.gif

those are always pretty simple to make
just put stir together some rice, small bits of spam (can be cut in the shape of a heart), onions, and small bits of carrots peas, etc.
stir, then add soy sauce, and stir some more
haha, that's how i make it, because im bad a cooking sad.gif

then you can cook a hotdog in the mircrowave and cut it like an octopus and put it on the side
how to: http://moderntraditional.com/magazine/bento/bentodogs.html

then...
jellyace for dessert biggrin.gif
those are those little cups of jelly right?
& butter coconut cookies

haha that's all i can think of now
i hoped i helped smile.gif

oh and the fact that you took the time and energy to make him a bento should be enough to please your bf biggrin.gif!!
