What exactly is the logic and reasoning behind it?
Basically just don't eat any food after 6pm or 7pm or whatever.
Apparently Koda Kumi and Miss World China follow it...and some of my friends do as well...although I haven't really seen any improvements in them lol sweatingbullets.gif
And also, has this worked for anyone?

I watched it on nat geo or sth. There's this hormone that converts food directly into fat when the body is supposed to be sleeping(according to the body clock). It only comes up at that time. When we're supposed to be awake, everything we eat turns into energy because that hormone is absent at that time.

Uh I forgot details but that's pretty much it.

Criticism does not equal bashing.

This is what a teacher had told me in health class. There was a student who was a bit chubby and she wanted to lose weight but didn't have the time to exercise. So, she didn't eat anything after 6pm. Soon her face started to hollow/thin out. She some weight on her upper body but not really anything on her lower body.

My guess is if you eat after 6 and you're still awake then you're still burning more calories you would when you're sleeping. Eating earlier means your body with have a chance to burn what you've eaten for the day.

damn like this would be a hard one i think because most people hang out with their
friends late & go out to eat and stuff like 8 - 11PM haha.

see, exactly- that is the problem. i tired not eating at 10, and after successfully not eating after 10, a few weeks later we went to denny's at one and i decided not to eat. i felt so anti social. a couple of weeks later, i gave in and just ate with them.

I try to follow the "don't eat for 4 hours before you sleep" rule - so if I'm going to bed at 11, I need to finish my dinner by 7, etc. It's because if your stomach doesn't digest all the food before you go to sleep, most of it will turn to fat since you're not active when you're asleep. The "no eating after 6pm" is a harsher version of that rule - some people even go down to 3 or 4pm when they're crazy =_=

i read somewhere that during the night is when your body repairs itself and as it repairs itself it needs calories for energy. so when u dont eat after 6 you are going to bed pretty much on an empty stomach so that when your body needs calories at night, it turns to your body fat for energy and in the long term you get lower body fat o.o. makes sense. i certainly feel skinnier the next day when i dont eat after 6.

I TRIED this one before and I did lose a lot of weight but I was going mad with cravings and hunger... after like a month I started binging like crazy... =__=

You got to be very committed with a lot of self-control for this one in my opinion. I remember going out and having my mouth water as I watched my friends eat... >_<

6 seems so early to stop eating... it'd be a lot easier at maybe 8 or something.... Lol...

Hmm...I think it works. My aunt told me about it.
Maybe, I should try this too. Hopefully, my night time cravings won't bother me T-T

i try not to pass 7-8...
the reason is because the body's digestive system is alot more efficient when we're sleeping...so that means its better at absorbing the food's nutrients, vitamins, and minerals and such. but...to be honest, say you eat dinner at 6pm vs. dinner at midnight, you wouldnt gain weight because being awake your body is already proficient at absorbing the nutrients, but its just those "snacks" we eat after "x" time, the extra calories is what is hurting us. thats what i learned from shadowing a doctor earlier last week xD

Thanks for the replies guys...but will it still work if I eat at like 8 and then sleep really late, say 2am like I usually do? Or does the body just naturally go into "sleep-mode" by that stage so the fat doesn't get burned?
Because it's really hard to not eat after 6pm...I mean I only get dinner at around 8-9...

i guess start off slow. first do 8 pm, then 7, then 6. i can only do 7 because i eat dinner at 6, which is still pretty early to most people.
