I've never taken the morning after pill, but I do know that in some states you can actually buy it over the counter. As for other places, you can go to places such as your local Planned Parenthood. They will have that for you as well as more information on whether or not the morning pill is right for you. Good luck! smile.gif If you're too scared to go by yourself you can always ask a trusty friend to go with you.
You can find a local Planned Parenthood clinic at their website:

I don't think that it's ever something a woman would say she likes per se.

my advice to you is to go to your physician or the nearest planned parenthood and discuss it thoroughly. It is not something that you should use on a regular basis to prevent pregnancy and you have a very narrow window of opportunity between when you have unprotected sex and when you can take the pill. You should ask about all of the side effects and make sure you don't have a pre-existing medical condition that could cause a complication. It can cause HORRIBLE cramping and an EXCESSIVELY heavy blood flow. And please remember that it does not eliminate any sexually transmitted diseases that may have been exchanged. Your best moving forward is to use proper birth control OR my personal choice and really the can't fail option, abstinence.

At the end of the day you are tampering with the delicate balance inside your body. Not only that, there is ALWAYS a psychological impact associated with decisions regarding abortions in any way manner or means.

Believe me when I say, I'm not being sanctimonious, I just have a genuine concern for women who are contemplating decisions such as this.

Gather information thouroughly and make the decision that's best for you and that you can live with.

If you are 18 or over you can buy it at the pharmacy (guy or girl). Just ask the pharmacist for Plan B.
If you are under 18 you will need a prescription.
The cost is around $50. It's two pills. You take one right away then the other one 12 hours later.
It works best the sooner you take it (within 3 days) but is effective up to 5 days after unprotected sex.
It's basically a dose of hormones so you might experience some side effects like headache, dizziness, stomachache/cramp. If you throw up within one hour or taking it you might have to repeat the dose but you should talk to your doctor about it.

I haven't taken it but i've dispensed it (i'm a pharmacy intern)
The girls aren't exactly happy about asking for it.
But it's not too hard to take and it's effective.

side note: The availability applies to the US. I don't know about other countries.

i took it once when the condom broke.
i got it over the counter at my local drugmart, but one of the doctors came out and talked to me about it first before telling me whether i should take it or not.

he said there might be side effects but i didn't experience any of it.

I never took it. But I work at a pharmacy.

There's two pills. The pills must be taken within 3 days of intercourse.
Take one pill at the time you buy it or asap. Take the other one in 12 hrs after.
You need to take BOTH of the pills.

I've seen some retarded customers tell me... "I forgot to take the second pill."
This is not forgetting to dry your nailpolish. This is pregnancy.

It costs like $45.00 and change.

Some customers are MEAN.
They're like, I NEED IT NOWWWWW!

DON'T MAKE IT A HABIT
Don't have unprotected sex and say "I could always take the Plan B pill."
Don't opt for it.
So to ask if people LIKE it... its a weird question.

you can tell the patient to take both pills at the same time.

FDA indication is for 3 days, but it actually works up to 5 days after intercourse

I don't think it's not really have to be immediate. You can take the pill in 72 hours after having sex. The sooner the better, and then take the 2nd one 12 hours later.

It is quite expensive, $50 for one time without protection wacko.gif I thought it was a bit cheaper but not. No more for me tears.gif

And I don't think it's good to take it often. One friend of mine has like a whole pack of them blink.gif

to the weird question you asked, no, I took it once and I don't like it simply 'cuz you do not like something that you MUST/HAVE TO do laugh.gif

Damn, this girl took all the words out of my mouth.
I really feel on her about the things I bolded, underlined and italicized.
"Do not look back and grieve over the past for it is gone. And do not be troubled about the future for it is yet to come. Live in the present and make it so beautiful that it will be worth the memory."

Obviously it is not 100% effective, but it's something like 70-85% effective if taken within 3-5 days. But if you were ovulating at the time and the egg is already fertilized... then too late.

Oh yea and here in MA you can buy it over the counter if you're 16+ I think. It costs like $50. Planned Parenthood has it cheaper though, I think it was $15 or something like that when I got it there.

wow that's not good, and its affectiveness goes down when you take it frequently as well
perhaps you should consider birth control pills?

In Canada, if you go to a family clinic you can get Plan B for like $15 CAD
or around $35-40 CAD at a pharmacy I believe
