when i don't like dressing up girly, neither do i dance. when i'm someone like this, i really find no good reasons to go to prom because it would just be all a waste of money for me.. other than to be with friends, but i could be with them any other day.
my junior prom is this friday and everyone keeps asking me why i don't want to go, i flat out tell them because i don't want to. but then i began thinking, will i even go to my senior prom ?
share your reasons, stories, etc.
p.s. if needed, close/delete/move this topic.

For me.. I don't like to go because I don't want to waste so much money with dress and everything just for that night. And I don't dance neither ;x
I haven't decided if I'll go to senior prom yet.. maybe if my friends all decide to go ALONE so we can hang out together.

i know! exactly how i feel; i mean definitely with that money for senior prom i could save it for something else more worthwhile. don't wanna go to prom but i don't mind a post-prom party haha.

Honestly, it's really sad to see girls running around like chickens with their heads cut off because they can't find a date for prom. I'm not saying that you'll do that; I'm just saying that having a date is not that important.

People are going to be the same -- except older, and I know the same people are going to go.
IMO, junior prom is not as SPECIAL as senior prom. It doesn't have a special meaning to it.
Senior prom is more worth is-- cause it's your last year,
but as for junior prom ...

Most of the people in my grade are going to junior prom and I feel like I'm the only one who isn't.

2. I don't like dressing up.
3. I don't like dancing.
4. I'm not that close with my senior class.
5. It's like an HOUR minimum driving distance (also contributes to gas cost lol).
6. I would only wear the stuff I buy for it like once :/
7. Music played at school functions/dances annoys me a lot o.x;
8. Wearing nice shoes for a long time would make my feet really sore the next day lol

wow that is extremely late.
when do you guys get off for vacation?
well at the moment i'm really hesistant about going because..
- i have no date.
- i think it's a waste of money.
- i have no ride, and i don't want to ask my mom to take me
- i already know the music is going to be crappy.
- i know a lot of people aren't going..
but since my friend offered to pay for me..i might go. but im not so sure.
i kind of just want to stay home or maybe just go out with some friends. idk.
to me i think if you go to prom by yourself..it's pretty pointless.
and going with just friends isn't all that great either beacause come on...everyone says prom is a "one in a lifetime" kind of thing..then why go with JUST friends when you can do that ANY time? yeah so what if you'll all be dressed up?

-1st of all, a lot of $$ for a suit.
-2nd, like someone had mentioned earlier: I don't have a ride and i don't feel like asking my mom to drive me.
-3rd, everyone's going to skip 1/2 of it and go straight to the clubs.
-4th, since i'm wearing a suit it would restrict me from getting it down on the dance floor (even though i don't dance at all)
-5th and most REASONABLE one of all: since i'm wearing a suit, it means i can't be careless because if i do, i'll end up with a nasty stain on my blazer/shirt, which will by far be a pain in the ass to wash off until i get home; hence you'll look like a total idiot for the rest of the night.
sure, my friends are all going but it's just going to be the same, only we'll be wearing something formal. Plus, i am confidant that I will have other opportunities to wear a suit. ^^

I've never seen a girl/heard of a girl go to prom without a date. Everyone would be dancing with their partners. If I go without, not only is it embarrassing, it's lonely. I could get a date by asking one of my male friends, but I also said other factors such as limo, after party, and tickets make me not want to go.
Prom for us is a whole package: date, dress, tickets, limo, and after party. It's important for us to leave school with a nice memory instead of the four years of complete hell we went through studying, preparing, and sucking up to teachers for college.
