I'm not saying EVERYONE but what I mean Y do majority of ppl I know want to be Korean?

Like at my school everyone is stuck on Koreans , like Korean are the shiznit down where i live! and like OMG Korean this And Korean that and its annoying! and i have Korean blood in me, I'm not full I'm mixed and i think its uber annoying when ppl like around my school start claiming there "Korean" OMG I WANT TO PUNCH THEM IN THE FACE!!

for instance, this one girl was claiming she was Korean and claiming she knew how to speak it fluently..so i asked her " your korean? do you know how to speak it?" and she said yes so i started to have a convo with her in korean and comming frm me IF YOU HAVE SEEN ME its a big surprise! no one would ever suspect me to know how to speak korean..i know im saying everything perfectly! i talked to her in formal so she wont get confused ..so she wouldn't come up with an excuse for y she didnt understand me...she looked at me with a confused look and said " i cant understand you" dry.gif PPL LIKE THAT! I HATE THEM!

To me those ppl destroy the meaning of having k-pride..

is there anybody you know like that?

YESSS. There is definitely someone that I know that is like that. I'm not korean but I want to punch her in the face everytime she talks. Lol. Everything she says she has to add "Omo" at the beginning. And when she talk to someone older than she is, she'll call them "Unnie" or "Oppa". And she also says "Aigooo" a lot too. Man it drives me nuts!!!!!!!

i don't wanna be korean mellow.gif

i had a friend in high school..she used to be obsessed with korean..everything..she'll go around telling people to call her unnie(i would call her oppa sometimes xDDD)..or do that sound..like...aish?

it's weird...like if i were to run around shrieking "[however you say hello in japanese] [name]-san!!"

haha yeah i know what you mean but i dont wanna be korean,i just like the culture like i like japenese, chinese, american, etc. BUT.....
i do know people that are really into korean stuff saying "OMG DONT I LOOK KOREAN?!" or keep saying korean words like "APPA,OPPA,UMMA!" etc.
it makes me sort of like annoyed because they are not even that into their own culture sort of sad if you dont even have pride of your own but of another.

I no longer give out my facebook but you can hit me up on my tumblr.

well, i don't want to be korean, but i do admit
i adore their culture in a rather large extent. happy.gif
i do try to speak the language, since i'm in the
process of learning and it helps if you actually
use the words in natural, everyday situations.
i am proud of my own culture more than anything,
and i think its okay to learn new cultures as long
as you fully appreciate and remember your own.

sometimes you just got to tell them to not be
too immersed, you know?

Here, it's all Japanese and Hong Kong fobs. It's just as annoying as people trying to be Korean.
Whatever floats their boat I guess.
Dressing is one thing, I just wish they wouldn't use words and phrases from the languages they don't really know how to speak.
I like being chinese kthnx.
