The Apple Diet

This is a diet that consists of you eating apple in replacement of your three meals a day.
so basically, you eat nothing but apples for a whlie.

There are different variations to this diet though.

So, i was wondering if anyone had ever tried it before?
and DOES IT WORK?

all you eat are apples?? i don't think you'll be getting enough nutrients to keep your metabolism up.. so it probably won't work.. because at low energy level, your body will use up your all your other energy sources ( carbs, protein) and then it will use up fat.. so basically you won't get any lighter~.. and it takes a toll on your body

if you're overweight, it works. i watched i guess (taiwanese variety show) and a girl lost almost 100 pounds by first losing 60 ish by doing this apple diet, then exersizing after to lose the last 40. just, if you're normal weight, it is bad for the body. if you're overweight, its bad for the body, but it does help you lose weight.

that's extremely bad. my aunt told me about this diet before too. sad.gif people and their methods gosh sad.gif basically you're starving yourself if you're just eating apples and water. heck you can lose weight just eating bacon and drinking water.... anyways, the point is, you're not taking in enough calories, nor do you have the nutrients. apples will be too much of an antioxidant, basically cleansing everything else. or you can also call it brink of starvation. honestly, just exercise, eat right, and have major dedication. in the long run, you'll reap the benefits.

one food diets are dangerous because you might gain alot of it back after the diet's over...

yeah. you'll be losing out on so many of the daily nutrients you need if you're just eating apples for breakfast, lunch, and dinner =/. you won't even get the necessary amount of calories per day for females with that diet. single food diets are really not recommended, they're just fads just like the grapefruit one.

If i remembered right, I believe Jolin Tsai or was it someone else o.O, they went on that diet and ended up fainting or in hospital or something. It's very unhealthy to just eat nothing but apples but, if you eat your meals in smaller portions and for snacks eat apples, then thats a better way to lose weight ^^

That's an insane method to lose weight, really. sleep.gif At least think of all those other nutritions (protein, carbs, etc.) you need to be healthy. It's common sense that you can't really live off of just eating apples 24/7. And if someone's gonna use this diet, I'm pretty sure they're gonna faint in no more than a day.

Apples can only give you so much. It doesn't have enough to keep you going. (At least, keep you going healthy.)

I know someone who did this...she went crazy from the hunger >.<
So apples to replace all ur meals, do u mean 3 apples a day?
Because that's like 240kcal a day...very very unhealthy and extremely hard to stick to =S

i tried this diet beforeeee
i love apples so i tried it
i lost ALOT of weight but i only
did it for 5 days? the days i went
to school but after i stopped
i gained some of it back sleep.gif

once you get off of it, the weight comes back smile.gif

my friend went on that diet for a week, she did lose hella weight, we tried telling her it's not gonna work, low and behold after another week or two eating normally again, she gained it back. she was depressed.

for some reason apples always keep me bloated.

I try my best to eat half medium apple per meal o.o;;;

my mom told me about eh apple diet, but its more of a fast. She said its healthy but you can only do it for a while

I don't think its a good idea.

Your body needs nutrients, and only eating apples isn't going to provide your body the nutrients it needs. You could even end up sick if you're not careful. I don't understand why people have to go through such drastic methods to lose weight. Going on a diet shouldn't be about depriving yourself with food, but more of providing your body of what it really needs, and trying to cut out what it doesn't need.
