can some help me identify the user name and password for this model so I can have access to port forwarding? I try UN: admin PW: admin, password, 1234 but it doesn't work. The box "Connect to 192.1680.1 keep popping up even after I entered all these in. I don't know what to do anymore. How do I know which user name or password to enter into the box so that it will let me enter my router model. Thanks

Netgear CG814WG

I even purchased the software from portfowarding.com but since I don't know my username and/ password, port forwarding doesn't seems to work for me.

you gotta press the reset button on the router (with a pin -- to reset to factory defaults if you dont know the password) then try logging in again (you gotta setup all the settings again though..). and you bought software from portforwarding.com??? lol??? exactly how much did you pay?? blink.gif LOL

QUOTE
1. Press the reset button on the back until the test light blinks. This takes about 10 seconds. (To avoid accidental resets, the small button is recessed. Use a pen or paperclip to access it.)
2. Release the button.
3. Wait for the router to reboot.
4. Log in with the default password.

If the router was not cleared, try these additional steps AFTER the router has finished rebooting.
5. Unplug the router's power.
6. Press and hold the reset button. While the button is held down, reconnect router's power.
7. Continue to hold the reset button for 20 seconds after reconnecting the power.
8. Wait for the router to reboot.
9. Log in with the default password.

QUOTE
The router username is always admin
The default password is password or 1234 (depending on the model)

you should always check your manuals and the manufacturer's site for help.... im still bewildered by the fact that you wasted your money on some fraud site when you could've went to netgear's official site for help...

^thanks for the reply. I think it was $20 something (I thought that since I'm not very familiar with port forwarding, I can just buy the software and it will be easier that why but it still doesn't work so now I'm a bit confused).

It's just 20 dollars something so I don't really care much anyway.

After so much headache, I can finally get to the website 19216801. Anyway, after I configured the info into that for port forwarding. How do I also do port forwarding for BitTorrent 6.0.3.

It said this:
Welcome to the µTorrent Port Checker.
A test will be performed on your computer to check if the specified port is opened.

Checking port 6889 on 71.197.84.169...

Error! Port 6889 does not appear to be open.

Please see www.portforward.com for more information about how to map a port.

Please make absolutely sure that PeerGuardian2 or Protowall is allowing utorrent.com (72.20.34.145) in either of those programs. Those of you using ipfilter.dat should make sure the list does not include the website's IP. After making sure of this, re-run this test by refreshing the page (F5).

how do I change that?

goto startmenu > run > then type: cmd to bring up the command prompt..

then type: ipconfig /all

you're looking for the LAN ip address. on my lan, its 192.168.0.100. and it looks like you need to forward port 6889.

so after you have that info. login to 192.168.0.1 (your router config) then portforward port 6889 on 192.168.0.X (whatever your LAN ip is)
(may look different on your router)
