Hey fellow Soompiers, i was just wondering if you guys tend to wake up during the middle of the night a lot.. because I do every night, at least around 3 times. Usually between 3-7, then i wake up at 7:45. I don't know if it's because I'm a light sleeper or whatever, but it's been happening for the past half year or so. At night, I sleep around 12-1, so I usually get 6-7 hours of sleep.
What are your opinions on this? Does it vary from person to person or should I go see a doctor?

hmm, I've been stressed lately.. so I'm having a lot of trouble sleeping. It's gotten better though! I only wake up ~ 3 times now smile.gif but I wake up automatically at 7. >_< Are you .. stressed? Thinking about a lot of things?? You can try sleeping with earplugs if you're sensitive to sound. =)

^ i agree, maybe its stress? or just little subconcious things that are keeping your mind active.

i used to be a bit like this, but then i started to like pack my bag/choose my outfit/leave memos etc. whatever at night before i slept, so i would be all ready for the next day. and i always go to the bathrooom RIGHT before i go to bed lool

but anyway, i dont really think you need to see a doctor becoz most people go thru this type of phase ?

exercise like a maniac within your day (1-2h of hardcore cardio), and i can guarantee you'll sleep for 9h+ ^^

You should try exercising, since it might be that during the day, you're tired and stressed out, not wanting to do anything. I'm like that too, but only whenever I need to go the bathroom ^^;
I'm currently semi hiatus at the moment due to school.
*still pm me please, although it might take awhile to reply!

I have the exact same problem! It's like, when I try to go to sleep it'll take me two or three hours to even fall asleep and then I'll wake up over and over and over again so when I do wake up I'm still tired. It's gotten a bit better in the past couple of weeks or so though because I've been trying to do some yoga before bed but it still happens.
I really can't give you much of an answer but my doctor did tell me that there is a good chance that its some sort of subconsious level of stress or something but I don't feel too stressed so I don't know for sure but she's probably right. All I can say is try yoga, it actually is helping me to sort of calm my body down before bed to make sleeping a little easier.
