Here are some infos about a certain girl disease.

What is Obesophobia?

Defined as "a persistent, abnormal, irrational, and unwarranted fear ofgaining weight", each year this surprisingly common phobia causes countless people needless distress.

A persistent, fear ofgaining weight that compels one to avoid it, despite the awareness and reassurance that it is not dangerous.

To add insult to an already distressing condition, most Obesophobia therapies take months or years and sometimes even require the patient to be exposed repeatedly to their fear. We believe that not only is this totally unnecessary, it will often make the condition worse. And it is particularly cruel as Obesophobia can be eliminated with the right methods and just a few hours of commitment by the phobic individual.

Known by a number of names - Obesophobia and Fear of gaining weight being the most common - the problem often significantly impacts the quality of life. It can cause panic attacks and keep people apart from loved ones and business associates. Symptoms typically include shortness of breath, rapid breathing, irregular heartbeat, sweating, nausea, and overall feelings of dread, although everyone experiences Obesophobia in their own way and may have different symptoms.

Though a variety of powerful drugs are often prescribed for Obesophobia, side effects and/or withdrawal symptoms can be severe. Also, drugs do not "cure" Obesophobia or any other phobia. At best they temporarily suppress the symptoms artificially and chemically.

The good news is that the modern, fast, drug-free processes of The Ashing International Phobia Clinic will train your mind to feel completely different about gaining weight, eliminating the fear so it never haunts you again

Symptoms of obesophobia:

Your fear of gaining weight can result in the following symptoms:
breathlessness, dizziness, excessive sweating, nausea, dry mouth, feeling sick, shaking, heart palpitations, inability to think clearly, a fear of dying, becoming mad or losing control, a sensation of detachment from reality or a full blown anxiety attack.

You are not the only one to suffer from obesophobia. Most sufferers are surprised to learn that they are far from alone in this surprisingly common, although often unspoken, phobia.

Obesophobia is an intense fear of something that poses little or no actual danger. While adults with obesophobia realize that these fears are irrational, they often find that facing, or even thinking about facing, the feared situation brings on a panic attack or severe anxiety.

Now seriously, fear of fat is just weird. sweatingbullets.gif rolleyes.gif

Well, there are people who fear of gaining weight.. so I guess it can lead up to fear of fat? Since most girls are self-conscious, they tend to eat less out in public, and drink mostly water.
I'm currently semi hiatus at the moment due to school.
*still pm me please, although it might take awhile to reply!

well then wouldn't ANY phobia be weird?
Everyone has their own quirk.

Just like any other phobia, these people need/counseling help to make them realize that it's not healthy to overly fear something. I don't think exposure therapy is such a bad thing either. It makes people "face their fears." But then again i'm no psychologist so who knows.
