No meat = no muscle = nothing to burn fat with, fool!
Well, that's not completely true. If you don't want to eat meat then you need to find other sources of protein by eating tofu and a variety of nuts.
Anyway, I wouldn't skip out on meat unless you're ethically against it or are allergic because you'll health will go down the drain. tongue.gif

EDIT
If you want to lose waste, eat lots and lots of fiber like veggies and wholegrains.

I'm not sure about meat making you lose alot of weight. My health teacher is very skinny and she's a vegatarian. I guess meat has alot of fat?
If you still like meat, you can just grill meat instead of frying. Its healthier!

When I became a vegetarian I lost like 5 pounds, but it also depends how much meat you eat.
But I believe that once you start eating meat again you'll probably just gain it right back.. Just try eating leaner meat

I dont really eat meat because my m0m can't cook them properly unfortunately... sleep.gif

But I replace my meat protein by eating tofu desserts (yummy) berry flavor, choco soya drink, peanut butter sandwich, egg whites, etc...

Meat is actually easier to burn than carbs. Potato has tons of carb and it is vegetable. If you choose not to eat meat, then end up eating a large order of french fries.... sweatingbullets.gif same thing..You should eat chicken & turkey instead of pork & beef.

actually thats like become to a vegen (hardcore doesn't eat meat and dairy products) or vegetarian (eats dairy products but mostly all on soy and no meat).

I know this girl who is really lean and has a nice figure. She told me that shes a vegen and only eats nuts, vegetables, and fruits. So i think the nuts and veggies has protein which makes her have lean muscle. She looks great too not like those "scrawny" skinny girls. Shes very lean and i bet all the girls in my kickboxing class are dying to have a body like hers. Because of her, i choose to become a vegetarian except for fish (can't stand without fish).

But at the same time being a vegen or vegetarian is really expensive especially spending mostly on your nuts, soy meat (veggie patties, tofu etc.) and lots of dark green salads

i think you can do it. I'm a vegetarian and i have quite lean muscles. I work out a lot and i lift up quite heavy weights but i mostly do a lot of cardio. I hardly do my intake on carbs (like rice, bread, etc.) but i intake a lot of veggies...more than fruits LOL.

If you do that, just be sure to eat a lot of protein:
like nuts & stuff . My friend tried vegan & her hair started falling out ><"

eerrrrr, you mean being vegetarian for a while?
i'm vegetarian. i gained weight when i first stopped eating meat, because you consume much more carbs. it doesn't help you lose weight, but it is MUCH healthier. you can eat eggs and tofu for protein.
i don't really know why people are talking about vegans. because being vegetarian is completely different from being vegan. vegans MUST take supplements, whereas vegetarians don't if you are eating well.

It might be an experience for you, but it's a bad idea. The nutrition you get from all kinds of food is important; leaving one out will have side effects. The whole carb thing is not an issue, it's the fat that makes you fat. If you go veggie, you will lose weight (provided you don't consume more cheese and other fatty veggie diet things), but you will not be very healthy. The food pyramid has always been the best way to manage both your fat and health.

Go ahead and try it out. When you come back, you will probably have learned how to appreciate meat in moderation.

2 things to be careful of relating to previous posts:

People that eat grilled food on a nearly daily basis have a higher rate of cancer. Make sure to mix up grilled with other healthy ways of cooking, like steaming, or boiling.

A recent study also said that supplements may not work at all, or nearly as much as the vitamins and anti-oxidants you gain from the food you eat. So, don't think you can just not eat some foods and take supplements to make up for it. Balance what you eat.

Nothin wrong with becoming a vegetarian. I mean, there are people out there who step it up a notch and are vegan, no? Just remember to always take your vitamins and eat lots of mixed nuts for protein =) They contain GOOD fat and so do avocados <3
