haha, i just registered to be a volunteer at this year's Anime Expo at the LA Convention Center!
i'll be volunteering from July 4-5

is anyone going?

it's going to be my first time.
for those who have attended the previous ones, how was it like?
and what should i bring/expect, etc..
i'm looking forward to meeting new people!

I'll be there. I'll probably be working inside the dealer's hall.

I'm going for sure. I'll mostly be in the dealer's room. If you're doing the scavenger hunt though, there's a good chance you'll see me. I'll be in the team that wins. If you do the scavenger hunt, join my team! We totally dominated last year.
Mmm... I've loved going to AX every year. You'll want to bring a camera to take pictures of the cosplayers and lots of money to spend in the dealer's room. Are you rooming with the other volunteers in a hotel? It's a great way to meet people.

I might be working at the NIS America booth. Its not 100% yet, but I do hope I get to work with them.

This will be my 3rd year working at AX - 1 year as a volunteer & 2 years as a part of Access Control (the people in the red vests who maintain lines).

Bring lots of money & digital camera & food. Wear shoes or something that you're comfortable walking in. & expect to see a lot of crazy cosplayers, both asian & non-asian.

I am only going to be wearing costumes on convention grounds. I will change into my normal clothes at the convention center before leaving the area. Also, I'm really interested to see how AX will work out in LA.

I went to Anime Expo twice in a row. I went to Anime Expo 2006 when Clamp and Mana was there and I went last year because of all the concerts. I thought the Anaheim convention center was a great place to have the expo in. Long Beach was very disorganized last year and alot of people were extremely unhappy, myself included. I'm not sure about LA though. I'm gonna wait for all the guests to be anounced before deciding if the drive to LA would be worth it.

Yeah, it did. Organization, the Long Beach center's layout and much more were just eh.
But, yeah, I'm planning to go this year, but just as an attendee.

I'm friends with the head of public relations of NIS America while being acquainted with most of the other staff. I'm still hoping for the best for AX. It worked at Long Beach before, but it was just too disorganized last year.

my parents are too cheap to pay gas T.T
the 1st time i went was last year and that wasn't a great experience,
so i can't compare it to when it was at anaheim.
hopefully it'll work out this year ^^;

Yeah I know Jack Niida. Nao Zook (who I'm better acquainted with) is actually the head of public relations. Most of the NIS America staff knows who I am. I'll also be staying at the Westin.
