If you are interested in attending a conference held by Stanford University on Asian American health, please apply! We are interested in spreading awareness of the Asian health issues in the United States and the global community. PLUS, it is not super expensive like other conferences held in the summer.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

-edit-
I will be one of the group leaders, so that's another reason to apply! biggrin.gif

Thanks man, I'd really love to get involved in this.
I'll look into more of this. if there are others who are in this, it'd be great to have their feedback.

+ edit

there are some confusing parts on the application, based on what i read.

for example, you must turn in the $250 check as well as your application FIRST (not the check after you figure out you are accepted?).

As stated in the application, "Your check will be returned if you are not accepted." It just makes the process much easier for you and us. For example, if we did not ask for the check with the application, you would get your acceptance letter and then you would send us your check. By doing this, we reduce the costs for you and make it easier to keep track of the money. On a final note, we tend to accept more than reject.

This conference is moderately selective.

Last year, we accepted approximately 125 high school students.
I am going to be one of the group leaders, but I am not in charge of it.

Wow, I would like to do this, but I believe my 08-09 school year starts on August 14th...
If it doesn't, I might be asked to help out at school the week earlier as well.
Would you recommend still applying even though I'm not sure if I could attend?

Traveling and staying there will be at our expense correct?
If I apply and get accepted, will I be able to be a group leader as well? I'm really interested in this.

It'd be great if you could PM me~

Aw man I miss application deadlines! I was really looking forward to it, even though I'm like an hour or two away from CT. :(

Edit: Is there a lot of free time? I want to play tennis. =D

Whoa. The application deadline has been extended to July 3rd. Does that mean there wasn't enough applicants? Are we in? LOL Rationalizing too much.
