Please note that we have revised the rules on page 1. Read the new rules and respect that. I am re-opening the thread now.
Hello,
I'm sure some of you were expecting this; as for those who are surprised, instead,
it would be appreciated if you took the time to read this post.
After the Dream Concert, new users began to register on soompi and post here, others who had been silent readers finally decided to speak up and, believe me,
you're all welcome to do so and contribute to this thread, make friends and talk about Super Junior; however, the majority of you has been disregarding the rules and obviously failed to follow the advice and suggestions many people and I have been giving this week. Multiple times.
I don't plan to keep this thread closed for long, probably just a day or two, I care too much (about it and about the fans who actually read the rules) to deprive us of our mean of communication. It was a hard decision I have been denating for days.
Closing the thread was the only way to make everyone read this announcement, because everything else went unnoticed.
Please read everything carefully and if you have questions, you can PM me and I will reply to you as soon as possible - do keep in mind that I receive way too many PMs for my own good already, so my reply might come in a little late.
01. SOOMPI RULESBefore posting, in any case, if you are not familiar with soompi's rules yet: READ THEM, you can find them
here.
All the general soompi rules apply to this thread, no exceptions are made. Also, since this thread is located in the Korean Music section,
specific rules apply to it:
read them here. They are very simple, civil and explicit, please observe them.
02. YOUR AVATAR & SIGNATURECheck your avatar and banner, along with the amount of lines you have in your signature and the font size.
Signature rules are strict in this forum and they were revised recently, so please read them
here and make sure you aren't breaking any. I've seen numerous people with big banners and huge fonts, I don't want you to get reported, so
please be careful and check your signature before posting again.
03. ASKING QUESTIONSBefore posting, make a little effort and
backlog at least 5 pages - many soompiers come here with a simple question that was already answered just moments before. Also,
there is a whole lot of information on the first page of the thread, it took me a long time to compile it - I understand that not everything is up-to-date, please try to be patient - but, more often than not, questions asked in this thread find their respective answers on the first page. Especially, remember that
Super Junior's schedule is here, if you want to know if a specific radio is bora/viewable, check that post first - sometimes I may take a couple of days before updating it, but I usually do it on Sunday.
04. NO POSTING LIMITThere is no limit as to how many times you may post in this thread per day; however, if you're posting here just to increase your post count and the content of your replies is pointless and unnecessary, you might get reported to a moderator and suspended for a couple of days.
If you have nothing to share, it's okay - we don't expect everyone to contribute here -
but please write something constructive instead of spamming. I don't really want to eventually have to set a posting limit like it happened in the DBSK thread, so if you behave well from now on, we won't have to resort to such measures.
05. S P A MWhat is spam? There is a post about it in the 2nd thread,
click here to read. If you want
a few more direct examples of what is considered spam, here they are:
► Talking about your personal life is
NOT allowed, unless it is
STRICTLY related to Super Junior. For example, if you dreamt about Super Junior, you can share your experience here. On the other hand, if you can't make clubbox work, or you fell down the stairs, or you have exams: this is NOT the thread where you can talk about such issues.
► In my old post, I said that short comments about Super Junior are allowed, but that is as long as they are
constructive or carry good information. You can
NOT post comments such as "
OMG Kim Kibum is sooooo cute!!!", or "
Hi, my name is X, I'm from X and I want to make new friends!!", or "
I love Super Junior!! They're so hot!", or even "
Thanks for the translation!!!".
A decent short comment would be: "
Leeteuk was eating paper on sukira!", although very stupid, it's still information, lol.
►
Short comments in response to someone's question are OKAY. This is actually encouraged: if you know the answer, please satisfy people's questions - it will avoid more spam.
► If you
ONLY want to thank someone for their translation / pictures / media, you can send them a PM.
Do NOT post a reply to SIMPLY thank someone, unless you have more to say and comments about that particular translation / picture / etc.
► Every kind of
event-related wishes (birthdays, Christmas, New Year, etc.) are considered spam if your post consists of that ONLY. You may wish one of the Super Junior members happy birthday or wish other soompiers a Merry Christmas, but
you must include it in a post with more constructive content.
06. CONVERSATIONConversation is not allowed; if you want to communicate with a single soompier, send them a PM.
Debates are allowed, but constant chit-chatting isn't. A brief, isolated comment may be allowed if done very occasionally, but to actually have a conversation through replies is not allowed.
07. QUOTINGIf you're quoting a long post, I encourage you to cut it short. There's no need to apologize to people if you cut their comment or translation short, their work will still be intact in the thread - if you take out most of the content from your quote, it will make it easier for other people to skim through the various posts.
08. RESPECT THE ACTIVE USERSPlease do not be too demanding: do not ask people to translate so and so for you, I'm sure everyone has a life outside this forum, a few of us are doing a lot for this thread, asking us for more, more, more doesn't really make us feel better about the time we waste. There are users that try to provide as much information and media as they can, please appreciate their efforts.
09. MTV ASIA AWARDSThere are two ways to vote for Super Junior at the MTV Asia Awards:
►
NO registration:
CLICK HERE - once Super Junior's image has loaded, click on the big white 'VOTE' writing and it will bring you to the results page. Once done, click on 'BACK' and after 10 minutes you can vote again.
►
WITH registration:
here is a tutorial.
ㄴ Voting closes on July 25, 2008.
ㄴ The MTV Asia Awards will be held in Malaysia on August 2, 2008.
Please avoid asking further questions about this topic and if you really have an important question that has not been answered here already, PM me or ask in your post, BUT ONLY IF your reply has also more constructive content in it, or else it will be considered spam. Also, refrain yourself from posting reply after reply with just "VOTE FOR SUPER JUNIOR!" because that is a form of spam that's not tolerated here.
Feel free to put the links I gave you in your signature (respect the signature rules) and encourage people to vote through those.
I think I covered the most important points that you should know and I hope you actually read all of it and that when the thread gets re-opened, you will still post as often as you did prior to my drastic decision, but with more consideration for other soompiers and the moderators.
Thank you very much and I want to apologize to the very good soompiers who have respected the rules until now.
