South Korea got the easiest draw ever. It's pathetic if they don't advance.

United States got shafted. Sucks. 9th seed and stuck in that group...

i hope Korea pulls thru most likely they will
Japan has a damn hard group for them; I hope they play well against Brazil like in the Confed Cup* gonna be a breathe taker
as for Spain i hope they dominate their group and hopefully Raul and Xavi will be back from injury to play, they got the players but do they have the teamwork
wow i can feel the tension
how many times must I fall over and over again? and when will i finally succeed at a such a vital point in my life while my time is dwindling away???

Nightmare scenario for Team USA. Even if they somehow get 2nd place and advance they will most likely face Brazil. Ouch. Argentina still got it louzier as they were put in the Group of Death for the 2nd consecutive World Cup.

On the other hand Korea couldn't have asked for a more favorable draw. They should get at least to the Second Round and even more as they will face Group H in that round.

Here's my ranking of the groups from harders to easiest:

GROUP C
Argentina, Ivory Coast, Serbia & Montenegro, Holland

GROUP E
Italy, Ghana, USA, Czech Republic

GROUP F
Brazil, Croatia, Australia, Japan

GROUP B
England, Paraguay, Trinidad & Tobago, Sweden

GROUP D
Mexico, Iran, Angola, Portugal

GROUP H
Spain, Ukraine, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia

GROUP G
France, Switzerland, South Korea, Togo

GROUP A
Germany, Costa Rica, Poland, Ecuador

South Korea really got off easy, but Swiss and Togo aren't teams to easily look over. Swiss have a fast, efficient offense while Togo prides itself on their speed and technique.

1980 = miracle on ice

2006 = miracle on grass, maybe?

can u guys imagine if the US actually wins the WC. i'm sure this country would go crazy - well, at least for 1 day then of course it's back to baseball smile.gif

i know Brazil, England, France are considered to be powerhouses and we're the little baby but stranger things have happened in sports. look at what happened to France 4 yrs ago. i know the US winning it all might be a long shot but i'll still root for them to come out on top. here's to blind faith *cheers*

damn...group e....a very difficult grouping for the US. 1990 all over again.

the czechs are damn good, italy is italy and ghana is no pushover.

i wish the US was playing Italy first (before they get time to gel) and then Czech. but oh well, that's the luck of the draw. having to face Ghana last is a good thing, that way the US will know how to play them and what they need to advance.

On paper, US is 3rd best in the group. In reality....who knows....the bigger they are, the harder they fall.IPB Image

as for korea's group. the swiss are no pushover and no one knows what to expect with togo. unlucky for korea to have to play togo before anyone gets to see them play. hopefully korea can get out of this group and advance. if they keep improving their form under dick, they have a good chance to.

England play the Swedes again. I would have thought they wouldn't play each other since at the last world cup they were in the same group.

I think Korea's group is pretty good, it could have been much worse. France is not the same as they used to be even though Zidane returned a while ago, a draw with them would be great. The Swiss are beatable but we shouldn't underestimate them, I saw them play France and the Swiss weren't that bad. No idea where and who Togo has. If Korea can draw France and beat Swiss or draw Swiss and beat Togo then I think we can defenitely advance. 4 points sounds like enough.

I hope England can win. Really rooting for them this world cup.
Life goes on too fast.

haha..i like how CNN first reported: "US Drawn into Group of Death" laugh.gif laugh.gif

I really do hope Korea can advance. I think the only team in the group that I'm worried about is France, but then again, the Swiss actually aren't half bad when they play well.

Go Korea o_o
