2NE1 to come with the Fire



Take out the lollipops and replace it with something spicy, YG Entertainment's 2NE1 is going to debut with the Fire.

On YG Entertainment's official website, YG posted a statement with information pertaining to 2NE1's very first single. They stated that the single will be titled "Fire" and will be released for digital download on May 6th. The Music Video is scheduled to be released on the same day as well, with a re-cut 2nd version of the Music Video being released a few days after. A preview teaser will be released this Friday on May 1st (Saturday in the States).

In addition, their official debut performance is scheduled to be on May 17th's SBS Inkigayo, 11 days after the release of the single. This single is just to get 2NE1's feet wet, YG Entertainment plans to release a mini album with 10 songs some time in October.

A lot of people fell in love with Lollipop, but they had their sunbae Big Bang support for that track (which really wasn't even an official single). How will they fair alone with "Fire?" Or maybe Big Bang will join them once again to help them out, either way I'm pretty excited about "Fire." They've had a lot of hype, let's see if they can live up to it

YG released a message on 3oth April, and in his message he revealed many details to YG�s upcoming group 2NE1�s debut.

2NE1 will debut on 6th May, releasing their debut single with title song �FIRE�. They will have their debut stage on SBS Inkigayo on 17th May. 1TYM Teddy is said to be the overall producer for the song �FIRE�, the MV and also the fashion style for the group�s debut.

Dance choreography is done by Sean and Amy, while the MV is directed by Seo Hyun Seung. The song �FIRE� is described as a �fast hip hop number with a reggae form�.

While all these are confirmed, YG suggested 3 ideas they may take for 2NE1�s debut publicity�

�YG�s new female group 2NE1 was first introduced via a CM song �Lollipop� with Big Bang about a month back.

The group will be releasing their debut single on 6th May with the title song �FIRE�.

�FIRE� is a song produced by YG�s main producer 1TYM Teddy, who also did TaeYang�s �Look Only At Me� and Um Jung Hwa�s �DISCO�. Teddy is not only the composer and lyricist to the song �FIRE�, he also the overall producer for 2NE1 in terms of fashion style and MV.

�FIRE� is a song accompanied by percussion instruments rhythm with the African and Indian feel, and hiphop sync.

In other words, it can be introduced as �fast hip hop song with reggae form�.

The choreography to �FIRE� is done by Amy and Seon who also did TaeYang�s �Look Only At Me� and the MV director will be Seo Hyun Seung. We hope to achieve good results with this as we have the best staff for each field to the group�s debut.

We went through some brainstorming for the publicity strategy for 2NE1�s debut. And we shall reveal some of our ideas now.

First idea, the song �FIRE� will be released on 2NE1�s official homepage from 1st May. Just the 20 secs version will be release. With that, everyday we will release a version adding 10 secs longer to it. A day before the actual release, on 5th May, we will reveal 1min long version. And on 6th May itself, the MV and the full song will be revealed on online music sites.

Second idea, �Fire� full song to be revealed together with 2 versions of the MV. They will be 2 versions MV filmed in the same set but with no-duplicated scenes in them. By doing so, we hope it is not like trying to seek out to the whole world with 2 MV release. In anyway, it will be a fun experience.

Third idea, regarding a different strategy for their promotional activities on broadcast programmes. 2NE1 will have their debut stage on 17th May on SBS Inkigayo.

In the preparation for 4 years, we announed that 2NE1�s album will include 10 songs initially. But looking at that point of view that 2NE1 is still a newcomer, we have decided to release a single first with �FIRE�, which will express 2NE1�s image well, as the title song first. In around July and October, we have plans for release of a minialbum and a full-length album, and the group will be active all the way till the way of the year.

Since SWI.T in 2002, this is a new female group under YG after so long, and to tell the truth, I�m a little nervous about it. With different concept and capabilities, we hope that fans will give much support and concern for 2NE1.�

A lot of announcements have been raising up high expectation of fans but neither any of them came on time. I will take the responsibility and raise my chin to accept all the blame being thrown to me.

In future to avoid the same situation again, we are working on having a long-term work with the news, who are the first to deliver any new announcements.

Speeches and messages from YG are a �promise� to fans who are trusting us.

We will be doing �advance informations� by making press announcements which will reveal the official news of different situation for others to follow. ^^

About GDragon�s album�


Jiyong�s album which should have been released in April, needs to be postponed. 2 months ago I got news from people in my circle that Jiyong has been very tired and I decided to meet with Jiyong and we talked about him being sent for a counseling. His condition is deeper of a slump and depression than I thought.

The reason behind it is because there wasn�t a real vacation for him ever since he debuted. This caused a big problem for him physically and mentally. His preparation for his first solo album is adding more stress to it.

It was said that their promotion activities would have ended in February with the �Big Show Concert� but they had to continue working on their new album,which should be released in Japan in June. They are also busy filming CF�s. There weren�t any time to release Jiyong�s solo album in April to be honest.

I�m feeling very sorry by looking at Jiyong how very tired he is. I always expected good results in what ever he is working on and I never considered how much time he spent on it or in which condition the environment was.

That�s why I decided and told him: � Jiyong ah, it doesn�t matter when you release your album. It doesn�t matter even if it comes out next year. Do it when you are ready and in your own peace.� He is also the one I gave responsibility on working of 2NE1�s album.

I believe that the fans who have been waiting eagerly for his solo album to come out will surely think the same way as I do, even if the issues right now are important.

It�s been about 1 month and Jiyong came back with his usual self. And lately he has been very cheerful working on his own album again.

The album might come out as a minialbum with 7 songs, as we think it. The reason to it is that on this album, new composers have been participating in it. Fans will surely enjoy the music with different feelings to it. The 7 songs expresses Jiyong�s special music style which is his own. I�m very satisfied with it.

Currently Jiyong is having a vacation in Europe (for about 8 days) in regarding for the concept and style of his first solo album. The work of the album itself is on his last step. This coming June - July will be the time for Big Bang to release and promote their new Japan album. Jiyong�s album will be released in August.

We hope that the fans will understand.

Jiyong�s composition�s misunderstandings�

There were rumours and misunderstandings about Jiyong�s participation as a composer with other composers lately.

As an example: � A collaborated compose of a song is the same as completing the whole composed song. Does Jiyong�s name be credit to the song alone?� and he doesn�t even know about it? What did he composed then?

To come up with the right words and melody is a very important part of producing a song. Until now all the songs that has been under his name are 100% composed by him. The rap, lyrics and melody are from him.

In YG, normally before the melody to a song will be produced, there would have to be a beat first. Making the right beat is a very normal work and in just a day there would be 2-3 beats tuned in.

Jiyong will pick from hundreds of beats done by composers he likes and he will work on the melody and lyrics at home.

After he is done working on it, he goes to the YG studio to make his own recording. If the song is finished, the other members of Big Bang will be called out to have a discussion if the new song will be added to the album. If all of them share the same opinion, they will start practicing and recording.

Since the beats are not done by Jiyong himself, we call this a collaborated composition. (Same goes for TOP�s composed songs too.)

I hope that there won�t be any more misunderstanding regarding this.

-2NE1 official debut schedules-

We introduced about a month our new YG feminine group with a collaborated CM song �Lollipop� along with Big Bang.

On May 6 2NE1 will formally debut with a digital single called �FIRE�.

�Fire� which was produced by the same person who composed �Only look at me� and �Disco� sang by Uhm Jung-Hwa. Teddy wrote the lyrics to �Fire� with a sense of fashion style and the music video will be released soon.

The melody of �Fire� reminds of Africa with a mixture of hip-hop SYNTH. Easily to say like fast hip-hop reggae.

This time we are working together with Shaun and Aimee again who also choreographed �Only look at me� by TaeYang for the music video of �FIre�. The director who is Seo Sung Hyn, he is the best MV director of in Korea and the staff are working to make the appearance of the video highly satisfying. Everyone can�t wait to see the result.

�Fire� will be shown in May 1 with a preview of 20 seconds at the official 2NE1 homepage to the public to see and everyday 10 seconds will be added to it.On May 5 there will be another preview with a 1 minute one and on May 6 the official whole song with the MV will be public.

�Fire� will also have two versions of music video. A normal one and a REMIX one. REMIX and not RE-EDIT. It has the same identical music only different scenes. The two music video�s is expected to seek the world (I hope with a good result^^) with a lot of fun in it.

The album of 2NE1 contains 10 songs which is in the progress of finishing. The album will be announcedin July after the first digital single is out. In October they will start with their activities until the year-end. It is also planned to do more activities for the next year.

It has been announced in 2002 that a female group will be presented by YG and it was a real long time for 2NE1 to debut. It made me a bit tense how people will react to them now. But I know there are alot of YG fans cheering on them.

The talks have become to be long for a day.
