i know cardio is the best way to lose fat
but some people tell me that swimming is the best
some people tell me that running is the best

after being on swim team for 4 years in high school i havent ran in years...
i just think swimming is easier

what is the best way to lose fat.?
swimming or running ?

side question - what is the difference between steam room ( sauna ) or dry room ( sauna )?
and does smoking ( cigarettes ) really stunt your growth ? sad.gif

i'd say swimming is best.
i can't swim for crap...
but i've had friends that just do running or swimming
and the ones swimming tend to keep toned better nd stuff.
i think it has to do with how you're using most (if not all) your muscles while swimming.
not only does it test the endurance of your muscles,
you don't end up so soar like if you were to run
it's also good for the joints, whereas running is... not so much.

it really depends. If ur going to be running uphill all day or in the snow then prob running.

I prefer swimming over running since its more cooler. You can take a break and all that cool water will wash off your sweat smile.gif

Plus its more fun to be bobing around!

i think swimming; you use both your arms and legs but i prefer running.

i think it depends what you're better at. i'm a better runner rather than a swimmer. swimming gives your whole body a work out... your using arms, leg, and your neck/back to move around the water. just stick w/ whatever you're better at

Doesn't your swim team do dryland or anything? I'm on my school's swim team and we do both water practices and land practices

Since I'm more of a swimmer, it feels like the running gives me more of an intense workout than just swimming. That is of course, unless our coach gets in his bad moods and makes our whole practices fly. *shudder*

Anyway, just make sure that when you're swimming, you're swimming fast and hard enough so that you're getting a workout.
