im asking this question for 2 reaons :-

1) Do you use native lanuage to order restaurant food?

2) If you use native language, is there food which CAN ONLY BE ORDERED IN THE NATIVE LANGUAGE
ie: is there food on the menu of the chinese or korean etc restaurant which canot be ordered in english.

cos i always thinnk there is...
(eg: they usually keep "duck tongue" off the english menu...)

I usually speak chinese if they're chinese and it's weird to say the english name when I know(am more familiar) the chinese name haha.
and when I go to korean and japanese restaurants I'll say it if i've learned the words XD

Well, depends if the restaurant is a Chinese restaurant. If it isn't I'll use English.

When I go eat in a Vietnamese restaurant, no matter if it's in France, Germany, England or the US, I order in Vietnamese, so they would know I'm Vietnamese xD U know, I may benefit from that xD

I usually order in English, unless I'm ordering food I know the names of in Cantonese. But it's usually English for me, because I can't speak Cantonese very well.

I usually just order in english. Sometimes I would speak to them in viet.
There are certain types of dishes that is made certain way, if you know the language its easier to describe it the way you want.

My friends at time likes to order off the menu and food off menu are always so much more yummier.

My Japanese is limited but I use what I know to order at Japanese restaurants...
Anything else I use English or a mixture of languages LOL
