The way I play it, I think I need to wear a helmet.
You know, being short and all, my head is an open target for a direct spike at the net.
Yeah, I suck.

mmm setters and sometimes hitters wear athletic tape on their fingers, mmm knee braces? they do help.. a lot a lot if you have a bad knee and don't wear knee pads., and i guess if your playing indoor, some nice cross training/running or vball shoes will be great =D high socks is an option

I don't wear anything when i play, but when i was in High school i HAD TO wear knee pads..
they're annoying. I usually don't wear any protection for volleyball after a while, because I got used to it.

The usual gear:
- knee pads
- knee braces (if your knee is wacked up)
- ankle braces
- mizuno/aasics shoes (aasics tends to be wider)
- tape for wacked up fingers
- knee socks (really good to wipe your shoes on haha)
I personally chose not to wear knee pads because I felt like it made me lazier... but those are the usual things to wear. All equipment is sold by mizuno/aasics.
