We need to know what you have before we can try to find your drivers. A system restore to ~4 days ago might be the easiest thing to try.

You could check your Device Manager and see if there's a problem with it?

knowing what u have and how it happened helps alot. if you dont know what soundcard you have, and ur computer is one u bought complete , the this driver might help: http://www.realtek.com.tw/Downloads/downlo...p;GetDown=false as most default pc's use the AC'97 soundcards. Select accept and download the one according to ur windows (if u used Windows XP, then download the one where Xp is mentioned.) then simply install and reboot
Sorry if I write so specifically, just want to make sure u know what to do, if u dont know much about computers
Hope it helps

I'm pretty sure I had your problem or one similar to it literally 20 minutes ago. I have a Vinyl AC '97 Codec Combo Drive (WDM), if that helps. I went to Control Panel > Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices > Sounds and Audio Devices > Hardware > Click "Vinyl AC '97 Codec Combo Drive (WDM)" > Properties > Driver > Update Driver. My computer downloaded some things, and my sound came back.
