hey guys, i need some help here >.<

its quite known that Seoul univ, Korea univ and Yonsei are the best universities in Korea right? my problem is, i want to study in Korea as an exchange student. but i have no idea which university to pick, and what they are known for. im gonna study Business, specialising in Finance most probably, so what do you recommend?

from what other soompiers have told me, Yonsei seems to be the popular choice. but ive yet to hear experiences from others who studied at the other two, so i cant judge yet. money may also be an issue, is any school especially elitist or full of rich people? >.<

my reason for wanting to exchange in korea is that... i love the culture, it seems that it has totally become part of my life already, somehow, thanks and no thanks to kpop. haha. i know basic korean, have taken lessons for about 6 months, and plan to master korean during my stint. as with other exchange students (i assume, haha), i think i want to have fun more than i want to gain from academics.

please help! thanks!

edit: thanks to kunjit and Mrs Jung Ji Hoon and everyone who responded, ive already made up my mind ^^ thanks!

I haven't been to any of those schools, but I can tell you sterotypes about them lol

Snu - geeky people
Yonsei - cool people
Korea - country people

honestly... you're not half as special as you think you are.

lol well i heard that seoul uni is more studious so if you're going there to have fun, you wouldn't want to go there~
yonsei is more of a party school than the other two from what i've heard smile.gif
i think most people choose yonsei because of that~

hey you... pm me or something? i decided to go Yonsei because of several reasons. their business school is the best, i heard. although korea uni is focusing on business now. yonsei has more eng classes, which helps ppl like me who only know basic korean. also, yonsei is much more international than the other two. so foreign students survive better and enjoy more there. hope that helps! ill be going next year or something.

Why would you go to korea to study business? In case you don't know this, the creme de la creme that korea has to offer come to the West get their post-secondary education. Why? because Korean universities play second fiddle to what U.S. and Britain can offer. Why would you want to forgo a Porshe to drive a Honda. Study finance in U.S. and then move over to korea if you wish.
"But when it ends and while it ends, something comes, after so much rage, persistence, obstinacy, extravagance; something entirely unexpected and touching in its mildness and goodness. With the motif passed through many vicissitudes, which takes leave and so doing becomes itself entirely leave-taking, a parting wave and call, with this D G G occurs a slight change, it experiences a small melodic expansion. After an introductory C, it puts a C sharp before the D. . .and this added C Sharp is the most moving, consolatory, pathetically reconciling thing in the world. It is like having one's hair or cheek stroked, lovingly, understandingly, like a deep and silent farewell look. . . . " (Mann: 55).

Agreed.

Business is global. So even if you do study in the U.S you can still successfully transfer over to Korea if you want, or anywhere else in the world.

That's what I'm doing as well, studying business/commerce in NA then here and there inbetween summer breaks I would go to Korea to study the language and culture.
