Is it just me or every time I have to cut something like fruits or meat, my hands get shaky when I'm holding knives. I'm always afraid that I might cut my finger off or accidentally stab myself. That's why I always ask my mom to cut it for me instead.



Is anyone else here afraid of holding knives?

i am afraid of using the stove though, i always burn myself
there are certain ways to hold knives so you dont cut yourself so.. i recommend holding your knife correctly

I sometimes get...entranced by the knives and want to cut anything and everything o_o;. That's what makes me afraid to use them. Haha.

i'm not afraid of most knives. the ones that i am scared of are the huge ones that require me to use both hands (butcher knives).

other than that, i'm pretty much okay with the rest of them. i'm pretty good with knives so i'm not scared of cutting myself, i'm just scared of accidently cutting someone else.

I used to be scared of using knives, even butter knives. o_o Had something to do with the way my parents always used to remind me that I could cut myself with them. T_T;;

Now I'm not so scared of using butter knives... But I cut myself badly with a bread knife once and that made me scared to use big knives, especially kitchen knives. T_T

My sister and I cook [basic veggie dishes] when our grandmother's not doing it. So no, knives are no challenge for me.

i used to be REALLY afraid of knives. i hate sharp stuff in general. but im taking culinary class at school lol so it forced me to get over it since we chop things like everyday.

I hardly ever do anything that requires me to use a knife anyway.

I feel the same way too except for butter knives. I also get very nervous when washing them too.

I'm not exactly afraid to use it..... I'm just VERY VERY cautious!! Lol. Ugh.. my friends when they use knives, they just poke it around..and i was sooo scared they were gonna accidently cut me T-T.. lol.. i get kinda paranoid like "CAREFULL!!!!!!"

yes because no one's ever showed me how to how to hold a knife properly. My mom is so pro, I wish she'd teach me, but she always shoos me out b/c I slow her down

I've cut myself with unfamiliar knives before (I was at a friend's place, peeling mangoes. I wasn't thinking right and I cut myself.), but I'm pretty good with the knives we have at home. I'm a lot better with knives than my sister (who is a better cook!).

I'm horrified of knives, haha. I cringe whenever I have to cut something, but it depends on the knife I'm using. I used a Swiss army knife fine when camping in the woods, but for some reason the cooking kitchen ones freak me out. When I do dishes I leave the knives for my parents, for fear of cutting my hand or something. *LAME*
