DCInside had a survey from 11th through 18th with a male idol member who will succeed most as solo as topic, and Taeyang received 2335 votes out of 10,084 (23.2%), thus he was placed as first.

There was never a doubt in my mind he wouldn't succeed, even before he debuted.
To me Tae Yang stood out from the beginning because he had the "solo package."
Good voice, strong vocals, strong live performances, hot dance moves, and captivating stage presence.
His solo album was a great debut album because it was just plain good music, but with Tae Yang flavor and essence.

Just wanted to share the news...I'm not sure...(I used google translator...lol) but Tae Yang is one of GQ Magazine (Korea) Men of the Year.
Which makes sense because GQ loved Tae Yang's album and his song "Look Only At Me."

i absolutely loved this interview.
there were a lot of serious and really meaningful questions.
youngbae is so well-versed and eloquent. his answers are so intelligent.
i always thought he was very honest, but even through his answers you can tell he's honest, but there's depths of his personality that we don't know. i'm glad he's not that type of celebrity who likes attention. he's in this business only for the music. this reminds me why i love tae yang in the first place. i love his passion for music and his devotion to what he does.

i am SOOOO stoked after i heard he's going to do a new solo...WOOT!!!!!!!!! i jumped up and down all around my house cause i was so happy....i was so sad when his solo activities ended, not knowing if he would come back but he is!!
i agree this inteview was definately more intellecutual and had depth although at times it seemed like the interviewer was tryin to trick him...he's so smart and he answered the questions so efficiently...i loved how he didnt give any politically correct answers...everything he said was down right honest....at times i was like "youngbae ah~ why would u say that?" but i came to realize he never says anything that makes him look good in front of people or makes him seem like he's this awesome celebrity...he says the truth whether fans like it or not and hopes that his fans will see him as a human being rather than this man put on a pedastool....i really love him for being so down to earth and humble...he never puts on airs about being famous or in this case being Man of the Year...instead it just makes him want to work harder, for himself and for all his fans.......i love how he can say in such a serious interview he got drunk lolz....young bae gone wild LOL.....i really wish they'd put him in a reality show, i think he'd be so awesome with his deep thinking responses lol......also...thank god for no stupid first kiss or first girlfriend questions!!!! ah i was getting so tired of those!

after reading the interview, i really admire how he answers so honestly.
it shows an in-depth scoop on YB's brain map haha
he's so positive and devoted to his work
i hope there'll be more interviews in the future that shows
the other side of him. like habits, interests or maybe views on the other members

yes, those art works are really nice

you can really see his style changing from a young age to now
i think he looks his best right now =D despite those arm veins o_O

dang that's a hardcore fan! DCYBers for ya! craziness. i admire the person for his/her devotion and loyalty, but at the same time can never understand this degree of fandom. i wonder how Youngbae would react if he saw this.
i'm also super stoked about his future album release. it made me all nostalgic because i was reminded of the long wait i had to endure for Youngbae's first solo album. it started with YG's announcement in early 2007 and the tentative release date of September 2007 which never happened. then in early 2008, a few more articles came out, but no date. i was so impatient, then all of a sudden...Tae Yang the first solo album May 22! then two crazy months of Tae Yang overload. lol. it ended as quick as it started, but he and YG kind of left us hanging because there was no word of another album or solo project. in YB's "farewell" letter at his concert, it felt as though this was it... the last few months all i've been thinking was "YG you better let YB have another album." lol. so, my point is through all this ^^ is i'm super excited for the next album. it's like going through this journey all over again: moments of unbearable anticipation mixed with waning hope and disappointment. lol.
in addition: you can tell GQ/the interviewer is a huge fan of Tae Yang...the soloist. it felt like he/she had so much respect for Tae Yang and his music.

^^BIG SMILES! It's true though, Tae Yang's music is far from being his own because he didn't write it, the choreography was created for him, but nonetheless, these songs are HIS. I don't think anyone will be able to sing it the same or better. Tae Yang has this incredible ability to digest the song and channel so much emotion and feeling through the song.
