i gotta be honest, i just started loving and noticing taeyang just like 3 days ago...LOL. coz i wasn't really a long time fan of big bang either...i just started to become a iVIP like a few months ago, and i first noticed and become a fan of TOP then my attention shifted to GD...LOL. and now, i'm noticing Taeyang more!...gosh, how could i missed him....sigh.
he's unbelievably awesome in dancing and singing!!!....i love him!..haha...
honestly, i think he's the best dancer out of big bang....he has mad dancing skills!..man, i wish i could dance like him.
and not to mention his smooth/cool RnB voice....it's LOVE @_@
and the MV of "where u at" is mad awesome!...even though the background is just simple, it brings more attention to the dancing and to him....and that's what i like about it!...
can't wait for the MV of wedding!...^^

oh, and
P.S. i like how GD change his BGM to taeyang's song....it shows how much they support each other...so sweet...hehe..

That�s what I like about TY. he knows what he likes----and he sticks to it. A very solid and dependable person.

And nooooow...........on to the really important issues. Believe it or not.........I actually don�t know where to start with my post, since I really don�t want to forget mentioning a single thing- especially when it comes to such an underrated entertainer as TY.

But I think, I �ll just start of with that then.
He is, unfortunately, way to underrated--- and very undeservingly so.
His soloentries always end up feeling unplanned and poorly promoted. He certainly deserves more than that. And I just hope that we�re gonna see that state change soon.

Unfortunately, or fortunately for those of you who dislike long posts..........my connection just got cut off........and with it, my very long post about all matters TY...............oh god-------it took me about 15 mimutes to come up with all the cool stuff I had planned......

Whatever- I�ll just try and remember the most important sentences anyway........oh, my brain.......
And first of all, start with his style. Or to be more precise- his clothes.
I know, this may not be such an important factor to some people- but to me, it is.

With singers and bands trying to make fashionstatements every week, wearing ripped clothes here and there, Taeyangs simple hip-hop oriented style feels like a fresh breath of air.
With the industry full of new singers concentrating on the wrong matters and actually managing to distract rather than attract. I really got tired of all those wannabe experiments, trendsetters andwhatnot. Especially when almost all of those singers end up looking the same in the end. I certainly can�t take anyone seriously who is goth one day, only to change to punk and hip-hop the other.


TY on the other hand doesn�t really pay his clothes much attention. He knows what he likes and doesn�t try too hard being someone he isn�t. Props to that.

Rather than to distract he wants people to focus on his real strengths-----which would be his voice and his danceskills.

I�ll continue with the latter here.

By now, I think, we�ve all come to expect, what�s for a long time been connencted with TY, a great dancing capability from him.

The boy knows how to move- that much is clear.
Sure, he�s not the worlds best dancer, and chances are, he�ll never be. Though, I have to say, the k-pop industry really has quite a bit to offer when it comes to that departement. As if that alone weren�t enough, the quality too is growing rapidly each year---making it very hard for others to keep up with.

But not to get me wrong here!

Of course one can�t expect singers to be on the same level as dancers- who really do just that all day long- dance. It would be an insult to compare their levels to one of some of the really great lockers, poppers, and whatnot out there.
But that does, in no way, mean that Taeyang is a bad dancer!
He is smooth as hell. A very good freestyler. His locks have gotten sharper and better than last year, his fluidity has increased quite a bit. His moves too have gotten faster and yet he manages to deliver them cleaner and cooler than before.
(Just to add this-----I am in no way saying that TY is a bad dancer. In my opinion he is one of the best ones out there---not only in k-pop but internationally as well. What I meant was that if you were to put any singer against a really good pure, pro-dancer out there, chances are that the dancer would own them in his element)
(Re-reading it again.......I actually realize how much nonsense I�ve talked up there--------who the hell even cares for pro-dancers anyway??)

He�s certainly got his own style- and it�s just SPLENDID.

The way he dances matches his personality like a second skin. Nothing seems fitted.
Which brings me right to my next point.

His expressions.

For some reason....which is still beyond me.....I really enjoy watching his cool expressions while he dances. And NO, I�m certainly not the type of person to fawn over singers, much less their looks or something like that. No, it has more to do with the way his expressions go with his dance.
They allow for some of his mooves, which surely would have looked very awkward and "gay" on others, to come across as cool and natural on him.

He doesn�t try to be sultry or seduce the girls. That pretty much sums it up.

With some of the latest singers/groups out there, one can�t help but feel slightly disgusted with. The way they try to sell themselves rather than their music is just.......eeew. In most cases it ends up looking pretty disgusting, and funny at the same time.....not to mention really cheap as well.

Again-----he doesn�t try to be something he�s not.

But hell------------here I am talking about all things Taeyang without even having touched the main subject yet-------his song!!

Which turned out to be.....................unsurprisingly................good.

That�s just the way it is with TY. He is one of the very rare singers (internationally speakig) who never has me worried about his next album. People just know what to expect from him. No bad surprises there.
One might say that a tactic like that would get boring over time----but not me-----I�ve had enough of those crazy experiments to last me a lifetime. So having a singer like him, who always continues to dliver good music, music he really likes and believes in, is greatly appreciated by me.
He manages to contain a high quality, but at the same time, improving slowly but surely every time a new chance arises.

As some people by now may or may not know, I enjoy the style Taeyang sings quite a bit. I like how he doesn�t let trends affect him when it comes to his tastes. Rather than trying to shock or provoke- he just wants to sing and share the kind of music he enjoys himself more than to prove how different he is.

And he does so very well, in my opinion.

The tune is really catchy. And unlike almost all of the released songs these past few months (internationally) the melody actually stayed in my head after just one hearing, hours ago, mind you!
And even more so-------did the "Wedding Dress" melody.Crazy.
People who like this kind of music certainly won�t be dissapointed. And even the ones who don�t will find something to appreciate as well, I�m sure.

He�s just such a break from all of those k-pop sugar-candy-cuteness-dolls.

One actually does not feel the need to puke at the sheer amount of colours and cutesy overload. Well.....at least that�s how it feels to me. The song would, if sung entirely in English, be topping the charts by now. More so, Taeyang is actually one of the few k-pop stars I don�t feel embarrased about comparing to other international singers. And one of the very few ones (if fluent in English) I could honestly see breaking into the US-market easily as well.

Sure.........the clip doesn�t really have anything much to offer and comes across as rather cheap. But which clip doesn�t these past few months? Some shots were really well done....but all in all......not the best quality-wise.
Whatever--------I know that alot of people will like it none the less, and rightly so.
Taeyangs delivery of, not only a good song, but a great choreography as well managed to make up for the, not so stellar, quality anyways.
(Oh and...just to add this!! I�m not even talking size here or anything like that, but rather the choice of colour and tone)

I just hope that he�ll get his big clip----his big chance to shine-------in the very near future. He certainly would deserve it.

His voice is good as always. And while he probably won�t ever reach the heights of some of the topsingers here as well----he certainly is on the right way. He knows how to use his voice the right way, but even more importantly------------he has the ability to put some great deal of emotion in it as well.
I like it. Simple as that.

His English got much better however...............which was a surprise. (Though I still don�t believe that it was his voice at the very beginnig)
But it�s good to see that he, unlike most of the other korean singers, took some time and effort to get better instead of repeating the same mistakes year after year. I�ll be looking forward to his next songs very much!

Sooo.....................what else remains................hmm...............I think I about covered everything I wanted.

I�ll just sum some other tibits up and leave it at that.

What can I say? I just like Taeyang when he is in his solomode. Not to say that I didn�t like him before. But he just doesn�t get much attention when he is in BIG BANG, and kinda fades into the background there. His introverted persona gets rather overshadowed by all the other members recent activities.

That�s why I always enjoy seeing him out there---ALONE, and on his own for a change.

And I also enjoy seeing the changes that go on with him when he is able to show his skill as well. He grew so much during his last solo. And while it is rather hard to tell with a quiet being such as TY, there is no denying it.
I know that alot of people would put Seungri on the front when talking about confidence. And while that certainly applies in a great sense--------I actually see Taeyang as the person with the most confidence in BIG BANG.

While Seungris confidence is very straight forward and in-your-face, Taeyangs IS NOT and shows in other ways. He has, what I like to call---the quiet-confidence.
It took me some time to notice, but out of all the members (and other k-pop singers out there) he actually is the fearless one. I�ve noticed this especially after his last solo. He has grown so confident in himself and his abilities. His shyness too has been shed a long time ago- as far as I�m cocnerned he isn�t even shy at all anymore-----quite the contrary actually.

He is not afraid to voice his opinion or to let others know (remember on one of the "CHANGE" episodes? He clearly told the "rude" director [GD in disguise] that his band would not do this and that). He�s not fazed by crowds either---and with that I mean the more personal, intimating, small ones.
Remember how he surprised all of us were by his fierce uproar infront of all the other singers during TOPs and GDs "MOVEMENT" performances? He certainly surprised me with that display!!!
He wasn�t even bothered in the slightest------dancing and singing away as though he was alone there, rather then paying attention to the dozens of cameras, fans and fellow singers.

Not to mention his biggest fear----------girls-------------which has been reduced to a minimum. Have you seen the way he acts around girls these days?
Not only is he not afraid to touch them anymore, but it also seems as though he�s finally started to see them more as equals instead of some ALIENS from another panet. (I give Amy the most credit here )

I can only repeat myself here. I like the guy. I like his humble nature and his wry sense of humour. Same goes for his calm and collected self. He is no attentionseeker-----which I like alot.

He�s a really good singer, and a great entertainer. He just has that "air" around him......like he is just cut for this like no other, you know what I�m sayin ;T
As though he�s always known that he would end up doing this some day.
There�s no awkward feel about him on the stage or in clips. He doesn�t need neither fancy clothes, nor flashy clips and effects to sell his music or persona.

He�ll continue doing his thing and not let others affect that. And I really feel that he is one of the rare male singers who can actually mangae to be liked by other males as well---without being embarrased about it either.

I really wish him all the best, and hope he gets the promotion and spotlight certain other members got as well..........but I�m not really worried there. I just know that he will continue getting his name out there, with no scanbdals or other unnececry things to get in his way.

Certainly the best solo this year by far.

idk why so many will jump to the conclusion that YG put all his money on gd [and keep comparing the two in ways that shouldn't be]. i'm sure yb had a say on what he wanted too. if he wanted a ~sparkly~ mv, why wouldn't yg give it to him. it's all a concept people. different styles. let's just expect even more in the next mv, if he's still dancing in an alley way, then i feel that might say something more. like yb himself said, high quality, he must be quite proud of his work. i see so many people just blaming everyone else, like teddy or yg, when they're not satisfied. why does nobody think yb had a say too. maybe this marketing strategy isn't so awesome since so many just assumed that this is all yb will get. well, it was to create some buzz, hopefully those who weren't 'wowed', whatever that means, will be with the real title release.

yea, i didn't expect more from this release, fans know this is the type of song that yb would do! proud of him, second round already. 2ND SUNRISE! and i don't feel this song is just a filler, it's a great one that'll do well on charts too. is he allowed to win anything without promoting? vips, make it the cyworld song of the month!!

anyways, in the end, fans will understand more than passers-by .. so, let's just all enjoy the music we like.

@miared I totally agree with you. TY is definitely under rated, both in BB and in the k-pop realm. I am miffed when I hear my friends/acquaintances spazzing about the other members, and they never seem to mention TY. and when people do mention him, they just mention his hot body! he is so much more than that, and I hope more people besides hardcore BB/TY fans notice this.

Aside from his more reserved personality, the fact that Taeyang is not interested in doing dramas, musicals and varieties because he wants to focus only on his music 100% also plays a part on him having less exposure/popularity than the others. I know I'll do my part when the album is released but I hope he's able to get even more fans with this new solo, along with the expected critical acclaim.
