Have you guys read about the news regarding Janice Man's comment towards the Siquan earthquake? Apparently some people are really against what she said cause they said it's similiar to what Sharon Stone said...:S

早前Janice Man在訪問時公開表示「四川地震是上天給予的懲罰，要人們更加保護自然環境！」引來網民狂轟，指她「說話沒經大腦」及博出位，更聲稱要封殺她。昨日韓君婷、莊思敏和袁彌明一同出席《新地孝子孝女感思父親節》活動時，同是新一代模特兒的莊思敏表示，她所認識的Janice性格率直、較小朋友，對方可能只為環保講多了前面那句話，「我認識她覺得她很好，但在她講這番話前，莎朗史東已出事，所以她也需要公開道歉，因她的說話導致很多人不開心。」

袁彌明則認為Janice年紀小，又剛在這幾個月才紅起來，所以對傳媒的問答不太熟悉，「她的意思可能是人類對地球不環保，才有天災，而不是懲罰，如果在網誌寫的話便要很小心，因寫之前可以找家人朋友幫忙，想清楚用詞才落筆，避免寫出來被人攻擊。我希望她的出發點不是惡意，但有莎朗史東這個極大的例子在前，沒理由重蹈覆轍。難得有這麼搶鏡的新星出現，剛出道不要即時將她打死，因她可能是用詞不當，她又不是政治人物，如果嚴懲她便是太大懲罰，只要不買她當封面的雜誌便好了，（她要道歉嗎？）她需要道歉。」

Correct me if I'm wrong, but basically the article is stating that Janice said : "The Siquan earthquake is a punishment from God. People should be more aware of protecting their environment!"
Apparently alot of people are bashing her now for saying things without using her brain. :S

Personally, I think it was inappropriate for her to say something like that. And if she didn't mean it...then she really should've been careful about what she said.

^^ wow,thats the first time I've read about the article. This incident, along with the Sharon Stone comment justifies why celebrities should not comment publically about their personal views on such widescale issues. The whole China earthquake issue is particularly sensitive because of Sharon Stone's comment, which recieved so much backlash that I highly doubt she could step foot in China ever again. But for Janice to make the comment that the earthquake is God's punishment, for a disaster in her own country, while almost every other celebrity in HK is actively participating in charity shows to aid the victims really reflects upon her personal intergrity and intelligence (or lack of). Although I love Janice as a model, and I think she is gorgeous, this incidence really reminds me that models are just models....all she is famous for is standing there looking pretty. Given that Janice is still young, and relatively new to the industry, I think this would be a learning experience for her, hopefully next time she'll think letting inappropriate words slip out!

wow i live in canada in a pretty non azn city (calgary) versus vancouver and toronto... and in the chinese newspapers, it already has the news that janice man dissed china and said it was like "God's punishment" and janice is like being compared with sharon stone ( i think ) or whoever dissed china too... apparantly a lot of internet bloggers/posters are really pissed at janice
