So my parents finally got their own cellphones, but since its AT&T (and its an American company) the AT&T people said that they can't put Chinese into the phones. But I was wondering if theres another way that I can do it? Thanks in advance!

I think you can't because the phone isn't unlocked and you have a chance of bricking the phone by flashing a firmware for a different region. Since you said your parents just bought it. Ask them if they're willing to buy an unlocked phone. I say this because, at least the Sony Ericsson phones, the phones usually have Chinese as one of the languages because most of the phones are imported from China.
