Help me decide between these cars. Pick the one you like best from EACH group and tell me why. Thanks biggrin.gif

1st group:
Toyota Camry
Honda Civic Sedan
VW Jetta
Hyundai Elantra

2nd group:
Hyundai Tiburon
Mitsubishi Eclipse
Scion TC
Honda Civic Coupe

keep in mind:
- I'm only 19 so I want something that looks nice and young biggrin.gif
- I want something reliable because I'll be using this car at school and away from home
- Good mileage is important because I'm a poor college student and home is 4 hours away.
- A safe car is also important, because even though I feel like I am a good driver, I've only driven for 3 years and there are many many many crazy drivers on my campus.
- I'd rather have something that not a ton of people have (even though some of the cars I listed are typical cars), but the above 3 reasons are much more important than this reason here.

also the g can already run mid 13s stock and the hks intakes adds an estimated 10 extra hp and the exhausts add like 8 so yeah it should shove off about 1.5 to 2 sec off my times

i was going to say the same thing...
1st group: camry
- really reliable car--just needs regular oil changes as per usual
- don't like the look of the civic sedan
- fuel efficient: 21/31 city/highway

2nd group: civic coupe
- the others aren't as reliable...
- fuel efficient: 36 highway... not sure what it is for city

1st: Honda Civic Sedan. I really like the SI class. The K engines are really great. You can make the car look aggressive by adding Honda factory body kit. Gas efficient. Comfortable ride.

2nd: Honda Civic Coupe. Same goes for the coupe.

1st group:
Honda Civic Sedan

Why:

Bullet proof engineering. K series engine, light agile, nimble, good on gas. Imo, looks nice as well. Did I mention VTEC?

2nd group:

Honda Civic Coupe

Why:

See above.

1st group:
Civic. If you are going to settle for typical cars, might as well settle with the most reliable typical one

2nd group
Tiburon, it's the most uncommon car of the 2nd group. Plus it is a nice car for a girl imo ^__^

thanks for the input everyone smile.gif
I've been researching/thinking about cars the past couple weeks and I'd have to say from the first group, I like the Civic Sedan, Camry, and Jetta best. And from the second group, I like the Tiburon and Civic Coupe best.

just one question... why not the jetta? I don't really know much about it, but I think it's cute and it's a good price (:

Jetta is a popular caucasian female car.

Be azn and go with tiburon!

I really love the whole male/female car ignorance on these boards. So wonderful.

1st group:
Toyota Camry
Honda Civic Sedan
VW Jetta
Hyundai Elantra

My choice: Civic cuz its the most practical and fuel efficient, especially with the gas prices nowadays. If you're going for looks, then the best out of these I would say the Jetta.

2nd group:
Hyundai Tiburon
Mitsubishi Eclipse
Scion TC
Honda Civic Coupe

My choice: Once again, the Civic for practicality and in this group, I would say the tC is the best in looks. Was never a fan of the Tiburon or Eclipse.

the jetta probably has the best interior out of all the cars you listed. the exterior is not so great to a guy, but good for a girl (jetta is a girl car). if you get a 1.8T model it will be able to move faster from 0mph-go than most of those cars you listed. if you pay 500 dollars for something called "chipping," your car will have absolutely no trouble climbing hills and will make a funny sound that guys like when you let off the gas. good luck with your decision.
i'd like to thank graceyoon and melkimx for warning me to 40%. thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Same reasons.

thanks so much for the input everyone!
i'm not getting a car until august so i have quite some time to decide.

but i think i will go for either the camry, civic sedan, or the jetta. i'm not sure i should get the jetta if it's known to be a "female" car because my younger brother will also be driving the car around when he turns 16 next year.

if anyone has any other suggestions that i haven't mentioned that are similar to the cars i listed, feel free to share smile.gif

Just cuz I just got one and it's been great so far. Really good mpg (averaging 30 and seems to be increasing). Nice looking interior.

2nd Group: Honda Civic Coupe

Same reason as above. I would've actually gotten a coupe but insurance is higher.
